I had an XR200R for 15 years and it went prefectly well and was fast enough - if you wanted to go faster you just held the throttle open harder.
Hot up otherwise depends on the model you are talking about. I had the XR200RD model from '83 and they had the full noise engine, later ones have airbox intake and exhaust rather restricted. You can liberate power by opening those up and rejetting as necessary.
What do you want to do with it? If not too much gnarly stuff run a 15T front sprocket instead of 13T and if its like the one I had 120km/hr on gravel was easy and fun. It wasn't until I got my WR did I find a bike as easy to ride fast on gravel as the XR was.
Failing all this you gotta think about big bore kits and cams and stuff like that. As for websites I've never looked because I never bother with hot ups myself, if I want to go faster I just ride faster eh!

My XR200R could out drag XR250's,and embarrass KDX200's (with a bad rider) Wiseco cam and piston,1 1/4in header pipe of tuned length and Superttrap, and some carb I got off something I don't know what...it was just bigger. The thing was a total screaming rocket....and a real headache on trail rides.Lots of top end power, but it bogged out at lower revs.Still an excellent hill climber because you could just nail it and hang on.Trouble is it revved so well I bent the valves.
And the brakes are useless....that's good enough reason not to do it.

Poweroll performance kits used to be the bizzbut that was many many years ago when XR200s were at the top of the heap
I sent both of the valves on a XL200 into the piston...
To be honest you'll not get a great deal of gain for your money. you would be bettr investing your money into a newwer bike.
If you really want to though maybe an exhaust and get it's tuning sorted.
Yep Thumpertalk is the best one
four strokes dot com is another

I agree with cheese go for xr500 or 600 you'll have all the speed plus more only depends on your size
Even if you get a 50% gain in h/p (not likely) reliability will go out the window (which is what made the wee 200's name), you will still only get low to mid 20 hp. 50% gain on stuff all = stuff all.
I suggest you get a lateish model 125 MX frame or suspension and have a relaible wee bike that you will be able to keep terminal velosity up for longer (with better brahes and suspension) and you will be suprised how many mega buck bikes you can keep up with or even beat.
If you do more open trail type riding go bigger in cc's, a mid ninety's DR350 or XR400 would serve that purpose well.
Its harder to lose weight than gain horsepower.
Sometimes you gotta work with what you got - I'd love all sorts of better bikes too,the reality is I've got what I've got.The XR200 can be made to put out 25hp,same as the XR250 from the same era,but the XR200 is smaller and lighter,it can be ridden harder with less effort. The mods I suggested would bump it to say 22 or 23hp,any unrealiability comes from just thrashing them too much - but they seem to love it so! The only down side for me was the lack of bottom end....but I never went there.

I agree with most, I have the XR200 & XR250, the XR250 revs out abit more than the 200 but both are not rockets and never will be, in saying that they are bloody good reliable off road bikes, that go anywhere, if you hot them up the reliability will go out the door,if you want more speed & reliabilty save your money & buy a DRZ / RMZ250/400 Suzuki or something like that.
the good thing about the XR200 is that you can ride it full throttle everywhere. I loved my one. Damn realiable trail bike. Some days (depending on mood) it was more fun to ride than the XR400. Alot less work.
