Its really bad for that in Kaitaia... People look the other way as they step out in front of you.... You end up having to slam on your brakes... Then they glare at you like you did something wrong....

Best ones are in Kerikeri... You'll be already backing out of a parking space... And you have some silly tart walk behind your car as your backing.. Whats worses is she'll be dragging a couple of little kids along behind her...

Just glad to hear your ok though.. Would have given you a bit of a fright.. But its good to see your aware of whats going on around you...

never hit anyone stupid enough to walk out in front [well, ok, once on my bicycle, and he was being a cock anyways] but i did see an elderly lady nearly get hit on friday... she was crossing at a courtesy crossing in town. car full of yobs come along and just drove straight in front of her... cars on the other side were stopped, and she was roughly at the halfway point. i was full expecting to see her get knocked over. shed started crossing well before the car got there, so had right of way.

the really happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery when on a detour.

No she didn't... pedestrians give way. (At least that is what the signs say on the crossings here in New Plymouth...)

    Been there, done that.

First girl I ran over did a u-turn on her pushbike without looking. I got a few grazes and bruises, she was a bit shocked but not particularly damaged.

The second one I hit fair and square after she stepped in front of me. It made quite a mess of the bike (~$3800 worth) and she had her leg broken in two places. I got a slightly grazed knee.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....
