    vfr800

well, i ventured out to try new helmets on today but got sidetracked at Phil Turnbull by the 2000 VFR800 they have (i think it had about 60km on it)

i jumped on just get a feel for the position and the weight and i was blown away by how light it felt just sitting in the shop!! it barely felt any heavier than my old 400, and just the right position too....

yod likes, yod likes a LOT!

now i have to try to resist the urge to call my bank manager!

(maybe ill just see what the wife says tonight....)

    Huh...
    You've got to watch that.
My wife (and the salesman) pushed me into buying my VFR when we were out window-shopping for a helmet for the wife.
Yeah, I *know* it sounds pathetic, but I felt like I was being pressured a bit, and wanted to go away and think about it. I'm not sorry I bought the VFR, as I love V-twins and v-fours (I've owned 4 now), but I ended up being ripped off: paid a bit much, didn't haggle over things that needed doing, and got bugger all for my trade-in.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

yeah...but you gotta expect they'll rape ya on the trade-in tho...every time and twice on sundays, they're dealers, that's what they do

the one i looked at is $9K - would probably go for 7 on trademe so my view is I seriously wouldnt bother....but hey, maybe when i take the wife in there this weekend so she can try helmets, she'll tell me I HAVE to buy it but i doubt it

    i'm in.....own 2 at the moment...have had 4 vfr's and a rvf over the years..

Currently building a rothmans replica RVFengined NC30 with a bowl full of added fruit(chassis spec on this is high)... the new RCV replica's look hot.. but not for me(been tempted tho, I've got fairings to do it).. I quite like the body shape as it is... a wee bit retro... I must be getting old.... you guys remember rainey/gardner/swantz/doohan

Let us know on here how that goes cause the RVF I'm interested in will need to go through that

1800 for basically a whole bike (in pieces). Awfully tempting but my parents won't allow another project, there's the link if anyone else is keen

Although I'd like to get the disks for this upcoming RVF, that's if I do get it. Can you use the front disks off other Honda's of that era though? Like the CBR400?

    Thanks Morcs,

Maybe you can teach me to wheelie the bike one day, (crunch, sound of fairing hitting tarmac, ouch!)

And Ben444 the Rothmans replica kit will be the bomb, it just says
1980's 'cool' so well, you may have to grow your hair slightly longish though to ride it.

Got a 98 VFR800 that I use every day...a proper one in Silver. Not like those slow red ones .

Also got an 86 750 FG that was deregd by the insurance company. Bought it for my brother but now he says he can't afford it so I'm trying to decide if I'll do it up for myself or sell it on. Rode it on my CBX750 rego for a while (hey its still a Honda!!) and its a sweet little bike.

I got a left footpeg for a 400. Came off my 750 but I got tired of riding side saddle with different pegs so I bought a new one.

Or maybe I'll keep the footpeg and swap the 750 for a 400 then I can have the 400 and the 800 instead.

More decisions...I'm getting a head ache here.
