Now the seller says this is normal.
I know this is a carb problem.

My question is, are his comments valid?
Those who owned and ridden RVFs, please contribute.
As I am seriously thinking of purchasing it.

    Thanks

Mine doesn't have a standard pipe or jetting and runs like a bag of hairy assholes down low, it's particularly bad around 7-8k in the rev range. I've had it tuned by moto mart and they did a really good job. It is definitely not as smooth or as strong down low as a couple of VFR's I've ridden with, but once you get past 8k it starts to pull away.

If that's the one I think it is, it may pay to check the rear wheel, as I think it has a 18 inch rear off a vfr (not a huge thing, but limits your choice of rubber more). I let Dane (friendly american or canadian guy?) ride my RVF back when he had a motard, but he said wasn't that keen on them, then next time I see him, he's riding this one?

If you do buy, give me a shout and we'll go for a ride

Yea i think its the same guy.

Funny he didn't mention the 18 inch rear wheel.
He still has a Ducati Motard from what he told me.

Any chance i can check out your Rvf, and have a wee chat about it in person?

    Thanks

4k for an RVF is pretty bloody good in my book. mind you, that's what I paid for mine and had to spend another couple of grand getting it road legal

an RVF with an 18 off an NC30? thats odd. Then again I have an NC30 with an RVF 17 inch rear wheel: maybe youve ended up with my old wheel?

I just asked the guy. And it turns out it is indeed an 18" wheel.
That's a bit odd. Any advantages to a slightly bigger wheel?

    massive disadvantage.

it will raise the rear ride height which might make it squirrelly in the front. having said that the shock is nearly 20 years old if it is stock so its probably all saggy arsed anyway. Wonder if it has the correct linkage in it?

big issue is tyres. It is more difficult to find supersports rubber in 18 than 17.

I use Dunlop GPR Alphas but mine is a trackday only toy, no road use.

That's odd, I thought the 2 had the same overall diameter, just that the 18" used a lower profile tire...

Edit: Nope, stock sizes are 150/60/17 and 150/60/18 apparently. So, half an inch higher ride height.

    Relay help!!

    HELP
    hey guys,
I have LED indicators and I have the front ones fitted, as my Stock one blew a bulb and I already had the LED's sitting about,
So I brought a shitty Ebay 3 pin relay and gave it a shot, it worked sweet when the bike wasnt running,
Started the bike up they flashed hard out for a second then stopped completely, So I figured fuck it ill buy a decent relay etc etc, anyways I got sold a 2 pin relay and the joker told me "this will do the trick you dont need that 3 pin bullshit blah blah" so I took it home, never got round to installing it as I had whipped the old relay back in and left it at that, anyway Im a bit sick of my hypo flashing indicators so I tried installing this 2 pin relay and no matter which was or whatever set up I installed it, (might be possible I done the same one more than once, thus why im posting this) it popped a fuse. Can someone PLEASE Help me out here, pictures or walkthrough or something would be FAN-TAS-TIC.

Can you throw together a crappy little diagram in ms paint or something to show what you've got connected to where? My Haines manual has a full wiring diagram in it that I can check against.

Cant really be assed pulling the panel off to get the correct wire colours, but the original relay had a plug that was connected to the three wires, it then plugged into the relay itself.

The new relay is marked with..( looking down) L at the top and + on the side prong

    Stock relay

    My relay

It shows on the third picture it has to go from the switch to the battery.. but without undoing my entire loom, I would assume it was two of the three wires originally there

Rubbish. 12.7mm lift in the rear will not make it "squirelly". Lifting the rear ride height is one of many recommended mods to be done on the NC30.

As an aside my current hoops are GPRA-12 front and rear. Mileage is fuckin hopeless, especially with the saggy arsed stock suspension. A 12 on the front and a 10 on the back maybe slightly better (mileage).

Verdict = No matter what way or in which Order I done it, nothing happened.
Da fuck am I doing wrong!?

    UPDATE

Basicly so I just found out, If I can find the ebay relay, all I need to do is remove the dash indicator light to separate the left and right circutes, and it will be solved...

Now to find the relay.. fml
