Uh, the Sub frame is shorter, but the tail sticks out still, not as far as the stock one though,

I am doing a Suzuka race rep on mine and im using tygas kits, I have brought the Suzuka cowl, uppers and belly pan, which should arrive soon this week I hope, and them im going to look at getting http://tyga-performance.com/site/pro...oducts_id=1829 the two seat tail unit,
Excluding shipping it costs the same to get what im getting to get a fibre glass race set here in NZ and comes with indicators tail light etc.

Ok, So I got my front cowl and belly pan today,
Pretty happy with the whole lot,
There are places where shipping damage has happened, its only rubbing damage so no problems,
    Packaging was fantastic though

Looks like my reg/rec has died

Anyone got a good solution? The R6 ones seem popular on 400GB.

Will have to go talk to Ham Honda tomorrow see what they suggest.

Anyone have any recommendations on removing the rear exhaust header bits? I believe I have an exhaust leak from either an old or missing gasket from the exhaust header coming from the right rear cylinder... I've heard soak it in crc for a few days, any suggestions as to getting to it etc? looks hard...

if your talking about the flange where the header meets the rest of the exhaust.. the top to were quite easy after i soaked it. i was a bit unlucky with the bottom 1, it sliped and it was abit of a bitch to get out after that. but my bolts were preety rusted.

soo if yours are rusted too take extra care.

if your talking about the gasket where the header meets the engine. the only way to get that out is by removing the engine.

Excellent, the Bit where the header meets the rest of the exhaust...hmm, so, next question, what are the exhauy gaskets made of? Would it be do-able to just get some gasket paper and cut it to size?

    Copper rings,
the idea is they crush when tightened, you could maybe get away with gasket glue stuff

i used exhaust gasket glue. but i was abit crunched on cash n time soo i couldnt go hunting for the right size copper gasket. it works somewhat fine. i can definitely feel a small leak when its cold but once the exhaust warms up it seals up.. lol my slopy work.

i would definitely recommend the copper gasket or something similar if you could find it. cork might do too.. dont go with paper because it goes through quite abit of elemental wear and personally i dont think the paper would hold up.

got home earlier from the BSA Poker Run here in Dunedin,
Tapped the bike out at its top speed, wouldn't have a clue what it was, the needle was long gone at 185 indicated and it was still pulling away in 5th and up to 11,000 in 6th But I did notice my rev counter had a bit of delay from 4th onwards, would get to 12 and it would sit on 12, Id open up the hammer and it wouldn't budge then it would leap to 13, didnt sruge or anything, was still smooth, anyone had this problem before?

and all that was done on closed roads...

I bought this for my vfr.

    http://www.electrexworld.co.uk/rr58-...ier-779-0.html

It has considerably larger surface area than the stock reg/rec. I mounted it a few mm off the frame to get some air circulating behind it too.

Also here is a pic of a slightly damaged alternator.

Got a shiny new one from here (same place as reg/rec).

    Hope this helps.

    Hey Guys.
Thought i would keep you updated on what im doing to my NC35.
Needed to keep myself off my bike until my knee fully heals up to allow me to ride comfortably.
So to take away the temptation, i decided to buy a new full set of Chinese fairings, new exhaust can, levers, and a few other bits and bobs.

Got a bit bored, so i started taking bits off the bit for a spot of cleaning, and well i kinda got a little carried away.

That was about 2 days ago, it has now shed a few more parts.
Half the bike is outside, and the rest is in my room.

Progress has halted a bit, as i need to get a torx set to remove the ignition barrel from the triple clamp, and i need a hex key larger than 6mm to take off the rearsets.

This dismantling process has become a little addictive, and i honestly hope that when i do finally put it all back together it starts up first time.

    Cam
