Bastids!
I was a member of this exalted company for a mere few weeks, when I had a VF500 and VFR750. The vifferbabe was not amused.
The VF had to live on the front deck, under a bike cover.
I'd forgotten that feeling, till you reminded me, that "What bike shall I ride today?" smirkiness.
I doubt very much whether I'll ever have it again. I almost convinced her to buy a VTR250 or summat, but she decided not to.
... and that's what I think.
Or summat.
Or maybe not...
Dunno really....
Just this very morning you were explaining that the "wifely one" was fully trained http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...88&postcount=6
Are we led to believe that this is not so?

Hmmm... so I did.
I'm not sure; she likes riding now, but she introduced some strange ChickLogic that because I have indulged in some unauthorised improvements to the VFR, it's no longer OUR bike.
I dunno how that works. Mebbe it's just because I didn't say, "Sweetie, I'm thinking of consigning the DumboEaredConfirminators to the bowels of the cupboard, and installing some sexier ones. What say you?"
Or that she thought I should leave "improvements" to the 'experts'.
Then there was the previous farkling I neglected to consult with her on (they were improvements - what was there to discuss??): gargre door opener, new fusebox, speedocorrector, Fiamm horns, brakelight flasher, PAIR valve disablement, Unifilter, oxygen sensor eliminators, lower gearing, etc etc etc....
"You said this bike wouldn't need anything done to it!"
"Uh..yeah...well... they're all improvements, and most of them are reversible..."
... and that's what I think.
Or summat.
Or maybe not...
Dunno really....

Love the 400's bro, only the Hondas tho. I couldnt ask anything more of the vfr except for it to look better and newer - hence the rvf.
I noticed when test riding, and read it on the net, that the rvf actually has less power due to a change in japanese legislation at the time - whereas the vfr was 59hp, the rvf was only made to 53hp. Im not fussed tho. still goes like stink
On TYGA after kitting both bikes out with their performance gear the RVF was making 3hp extra. Not sure if they were european models though. What is the restriction that reduces it anyway? Just ask Shuan what he does to his bikes to get more power out of them, I will
I checked out a NC24 from the Trade and Exchange. It was nice but I just like the look of the VFR/RVF more. Logically I should go for this one cause it's cheaper, but my heart is set on the NC35 that I haven't got any closer to buying yet. It needs a VIN and it's at the top of my budget already and will need more money on top of that but it's just so cool.
By the way, Dad said possibly (though he hasn't spoken with MUM yet) we might be able to bump up the budget to 6000. I'm not too keen on the idea as it'll force me into getting a second job rather than I get one if I feel I need more money, but it does make getting the RVF more realistic as I have a bit of cash to sort out any kinks.
This is that NC24. 35000kms, the previous owner kept the engine in great condition but it has fibreglass fairings and the graphics look a bit ratty (though it hasn't been lowsided)
Haha, I was telling my Dad earlier I may be more interested if it was around that price. Only problem is the paintjob is rubbish (j/k)
Actually the only real problem I have with it is the k's are getting up there. I don't know when VFR's tend to suffer from the high k's an require a rebuild and I know they go around the clock but it's still more than I wanted. Plus you've gone from this to an RVF, and I can get hold of an RVF myself
