    RVF crank bearings

Has anybody replaced crankshaft bearings in an RVF before and been able to decipher which replacement parts to order as there are different sizes and a chart etc? I'm having a hard time working it out

Soo I've done a couple of track days on my vfr at manfield now. Got the lap time down to 1.27-1.28. Which isn't great but isn't totally shit either. The only "mods" I've done are good tires (dunlop sportmax a12h), replaced the front discs and braided lines. And mostly importantly some crash bungs.. I know I should be able to go quicker than this, fairly easily.. But there is still apprehension at attempting to do so, as this is my only vehicle.. It's my daily commuter, my touring bike, my weekend weapon and now my trackday toy. If I bin it and render it inoperable I'm fucked...

I can see why good suspension is so crucial. Anything short of a constant throttle roll on through a turn produces more shaking and scary moments than a cheap strip club. Even with reasonable throttle control it is a barrel of monkeys. Any mid turn bump causes all kinds of bad juju. Boy I can't wait to put some decent suspenders on and see how it goes.

There's plenty of SRAD gsxr's around that would go alright in that class I reckon.

Maybe the stock boingers are fucked.

I managed 1:24 on my hagged out old '21.

My daily commuter and all that too.

It was on a real good day. I'm not sure I could have got a whole lot faster but definitely a wee bit.

I know you aren't that slow so something ain't right there.

my kwaka would eat the SRAD. but l think l will ride my zxr400
the bet time i did on my nc24 was a 1 20 flat . stock shocks but a harder rear sping. the good thing with a 30 you can get a 17inch rim . most 30's need a stonger rear sping there so dam soft

    Hey guys,

Just getting my bike ready for a tour around the south island early next year.
New tires (dunlop Q2 on the front and gpr200 on the rear) and just ordered brake pads, service kit etc from www.davidsilverspares.co.uk (over a month wait for parts :O late arriving christmas present for myself)

Just wondering if anyone here has/wants to get rid of/ knows where to go for
    - packrack
    - steering damper

Also, is there anything simple (that a semi-mechanically minded person) could/should do to the bike for safety/reliability/performance on such a trip?

any help would be appreciated fellas!
    Cheers,
    Adam

    check:
    chain tension and lube
    tyre pressure and tread
    brake fluid and pads
    coolant, oil, lightbulbs all ok
and then give it a decent wash - you never know what's about to rattle off

If taking a pillion or a fairly heavy pacl, make sure the rear spring preload is set appropriately
