Jacking up the rear is a must though. With stock suspenders the tail just looks too low. Maybe that's just my bike haha

you know those wee jobs that turn epic?

I thought i better run the VFR today cos I hadnt for a while. Fuel in, took it for a strop to get it warmed up, and it pulls fairly cleanly through the rev range. it has a bit of a cough and splutter at around 8krpm then revs up. I think maybe needle position, rather than jet size: will probably pay for some dyno time to set it up.

But I got home and thought, right, I'll just sort that wiring out. 4 hours later, the whole loom is off the bike in pieces and I am going to either totally rewire or junk the stock loom and get one custom made. I must have taken at least a roll of that filthy fucking electrical tape off it, there are what look like random splices all over the show, there are plugs that dont plug into anything and plugs with three wires used out of 8. All it needs is the start button, kill switch, charging and starting circuit and the electronic ignition. I am not that happy about it but it is a job I have been putting off for a while.

also to do: make an undertail tidy and put on my HRC rear brake reservoir, and ditch the front one for a smaller one I have, and make or alter a bracket for that. After that I might ditch the big battery (get one of those Shorai ones) so I can put the remote reservoir for the shock inside the subframe. But if I do that I will have to make up a battery box. Id like to ditch the subframe all together or alter it but I am not that confident of my metalworking skills.

    good fun.

Yours is track only spec ?? I'm gonna make another chromoly subframe for mine when I take it off the road proper. 3/4" x .035" tube. Will save about 40kg over stock If you wanna stick with the stocker, cut off all the nasty brackets and tags, then get to work with the drill. The loom shouldn't be too hard, so long as you have isolated the wires necessary for the bike to run. An afternoon with strippers and a soldering iron will see you right. Pics when you crack into it.

you need to get the compression up so need to skim heads or hrc rods pistons an also get a ram air style box open carbs are shit an also a port job by someone who knows these engines . Need to be total loss as well. even then you'll struggle to hit 70

NO ! You were meant to say, turn this screw 3/8 of a turn and it unleashes 20 more hp.

I did not know that. We run methanol in the norton..

Still would have to up the compression, do all the other stuff. Would NEED a programmable ignition then for the proper advance.. Running alcohol would just be the icing on the cake.
