    lol what?

I'm pretty sure my stock subframe doesn't even weigh 4 kg, let alone 40!

must be a bit of a novice to mistake a V4 for a Vtwin.....

More proof reading required, I guess! If you squint and look at it from perfectly side on, it looks exactly like a Vtwin!

How much of a programmable ignition do you need for methanol? Would an Ignitech do the job?

What, no way. The subframe is at least 1/4 of the bikes weight..

I think you can get 17x5.5 off a vfr750, so long as you modify the hub it can be made to suit.

Need to add something like 6deg advance ? Though don't quote me on that. 31deg BTDC or there abouts I think.

Forks arrived this morning. I met the courier at the front steps.. I tried to hug him..

Forks are now in the bike. Went up and down the driveway to see if I could feel the difference.

It's weird, like a new bike. Front end doesn't just bottom out and shoot back. There is actually some resistance to diving. And they don't bounce straight back at me like a ill placed squash shot. Will get the shock in tomorrow or thursday night.

Can't wait to get this mofo to the track.

    I don't think I'd be far off 1.24s.

If I didn't have to ride my bike to work and I had some spares, I could go 100%

3 grand for a well sorted track NC30 seems like good buying to me.

The tail piece is not period. And it looks gay. While most would turn a blind eye, it does say in the rules -

    "25.2.6 Fairing
Fairing and streamlining is permitted if they are of the type and style in keeping with the period of competition."

Otherwise it probably would be a good buy. I'd totally take it if I had 3 grand.

all it needs is a Just fairings glass single seat repro (I've got one sitting in the shed). but yeah, take your point. My 17 inch rear, sorted forks and Ohlins shock would make it really fucking fly.

There is a few other NC30 on trade me, but they are 90 and 92 I think. So they will have cartridge forks lol. That would be the only thing stopping them from being postie bikes.

I didn't think you could run a 17 rear in pre-89 as the riffers didn't come out til the nineties?

    25.2.1 Eligibility
The eligibility and dating of post classic motorcycles shall be considered in terms of the major components. The group into which a post classic machine is classed will be determined by the age of the newest component.

    25.2.2 Major Components
Major components are: Frame (including Swingarm), Engine and Gearbox castings, carburetors, Brakes (excluding front and rear master cylinders which are open) and forks. These are to be manufactured between Jan 1st 1963 and December 31st 1989.

    25.5.2 Wheels
Front wheel shall have a maximum width of 3.5” and minimum diameter of 16”.
Rear wheel shall have a maximum width of 5.5” and minimum diameter of 16”.
Wheels can be cast or spoke type.
Magnesium wheels are permitted. Carbon fibre wheels are banned.

From my understanding, wheels aren't counted as a "major component" and as such, so long as they aren't carbon fibre they are ok.
