Well, if they've ignored your attempts to contact them about it, then go ahead. (Anything for a bit of scandal to break the boredom... )

    Red face Another Noob

    Hello all,

Before you all abuse me for being in the wrong thread, have a look at my profile. It isn't a mistake........

I decided that I could not afford to get ANY speeding fines or demerits and besides the R1 isn't the most comfortable bike to ride any longer than an hour at a time. So after doing a bit of research and talking to various people I settled on a VFR800. Took one out for a test ride and didn't want to take it back to the shop.

So here I am now. I traded the 06 R1 on a 07 VFR800 with only 3300kms. There is 4 good things about this bike.

    1. Not buying new so the bike has already lost it's 'Out the door' price.
    2. Bike was purchased by first owner and was run-in doing the Southern Cross ride - couldn't ask for a better way for it to be broken in.
    3. 1st owner installed a packrack and a cig lighter (must of had heated vest)
    4. Bike is black with a silver pearl/metallic paint job. Didn't like the look of the Crimson or the new 08 colour - silver. Only thing is black is a bitch to keep clean and you REALLY notice the scratches and swirl marks.

I will try to post some more piccys up as I get time to take some.

So when is there going to be the big VFR club ride???

Congratulations, Qkchk! Luvleee bike! Good choice of colour!
My last VFR was black, and I found it OK to keep clean - apart from the white (!) wheels, so I stripped'n'polished 'em.
If you need to know anything about VFRs, just ask me.

    HALELUYA SISTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Well done!

I am not too sure about the comment about not getting any tickets though... The VFR will allow you to travel MUCH further (in comfort) at speeds that will allow you to accumulate demerits at an alarming rate!

Bloody nice! (We will have to meet up at some point for a "mirror image" photo shoot...

    Oh, and handle6,

Send the seller a PM and give him a chance to do the decent thing. If that opportunity isn't taken feel free to name and shame?

What's the VFR like compared to the R1? Is the suspension and handling better or worse? Is the power a let down or is it plenty quick to still have fun on? I've often thought about getting a sports tourer, especially the newer VFR, but I'm always drawn towards the ultimate power and styling of the latest sportsbikes (a habit I'm trying to break cause I can see it costing a lot of money I don't have).

    Showing my ignorance.....

Boyd's in Hamilton have at the moment got a new VFR800 and a new VFR800 Interceptor for an extra $400 ish.

Other than the tri colour paint job, what does the interceptor have over the standard VFR?

I phoned him and asked the same question. The only difference according to the salesman is the paint.

The VFRPS had lured me into buying the piece of shit. So frankly my dear, I don't give a damn.

Admittedly, would be a very good model of bike. You have to be a pretty damn good rider to keep up with me despite my shit skills. Looks great too. But why did I have to get the bloody lemon? It is definately not a joy, instead it's brought me back into my depression which I fought so hard to get bloody out of.

I'm looking at getting an XR next. Sigh....

VFR's will become rarer once I've delt to this one...

    Yeah theres always a lemon.

I sold mine just before It potentially turned into a lemon.

Im gonna make sure the rvf gets a rebuild before it goes the same way too...
