They seem like better option for the track, where as the bt-092's seem like more of a commuter one? With the bt-014 being the alternative sports/track one..does that sound about right? Except cycletreads doesn't seem to have either of the battleaxe's in the 18"?

The 12's are definitely softer and stickier than the 10's, wet performance seems to be much the same. AJ at Motohaus has them in stock.

450 isn't cringeworthy territory...the wife certainly wouldn't be happy though...could pass it off saying id save $100 on rear tyre each time?:-p

Do you know who bought it?

I've just realized 45's don't seem to come in the 150/60...and treads doesn't seem to list the bt90's or 92's in that size either? The manufacturer website says they do them as well as the 14s for the nc30 though?

Is ask as my rear was 1.5mm at the last wof...and I think the tester was being nice since I said I was fixing it up ;-)

So everything I ordered for my bike turned up this morning. Rather impressive as the order from David Silver Spares only left on Monday and more_fasterer only sent his yesterday. The unfortunate thing is none of these parcels will help get the bike running

The weird thing about David Silver Spares is that I asked for a shipping quote last year and they told me 30GBP. Almost placed the order but I messed up the numbers on my credit card and didn't bother correcting it. I placed the order last Friday without the quote expecting to be hit with the 30GBP shipping when the order is processed but they only charged me 8 GBP!

That's a nice price, what did you order? I think the shipping on carb float gaskets was half that!!

    The engine service kit.
    Air filter
    Oil filter
    Spark plugs

The total price was less than I have been quoted for spark plugs alone from a dealer.

    *edit*
Here is what I was quoted 3 years ago from a dealer

    4 x sparkplugs: $173.92
    1 x oil filter: 24.26
    1 x air filter: 104.35
    total: $302.53

All of the above ordered online from the UK and delivered the same week
    $140.22
    madness!

I don't blame the dealer. They don't set the prices. But that is one hell of a difference.

That is ridiculous! And on just having a look now, lowest price I can find per plug in nz is $35 per plug! 5 years ago I thought it was murder at 25$/plug! Ebay has them for 15.90$ NZ/plug each again, people wonder why we buy overseas...it honestly wouldn't even change my habits if there was GST! 100% mark up is a little much I would have thought!

I got my air filter from Ebay 45$/delivered a little while back, I think The shipping from David silver was more expensive when I looked?

    Hi,

New here, been on the 400GB forum for a few months.

Started off in 1988 on a near new NC21, moved up to an RC36 in 92, then a long break from bikes. Back on track now with an '89 NC30 seed.

Anyone going to the Honda track day at Hampton Downs on Weds evening?

    Cheers
    Matt

hmm bit much when its just for the evening. Looking at doing the ART day in March though...

On a side note, anyone know what it costs to recover a seat? or where to get vinyl or similar and appropriate staples?;-)
Also...RVF400 17" rear for 200 pounds on 400 grey bike, and another for 150USD on yahoo auctions (but I bet postage would be insane?)

Do you really need a 17" rear?

That is the question I keep asking myself anyway.

Fairly sure the answer is no...

    It's a good question.
I have a 16" front and 18 rear on my old bag of poop.

Tyre choice is pretty much limited to BT45s or Sport Demons.
I'm on BT45s now, they are about the same but the BT's wear way better with commuting. (Hard strip down center).

BT45's are good enough for what I'm doing with the bike, I'd have to get a lot more serious (Really a LOT) to bother putting new bearings in the 17 front that's lying in the shed.

I would do it for racing but not track days or sprints or anything.

So, the answer to me is; No!
