Yeah seems a bit dodgy. What do you think of the one in Auckland? Be interesting to see what it goes for.

Yeah will be - now that bike seems like one that has been... Mistreated. Good for parts or a never ending money hole if I ever saw one!

Yeah definitely odd, but to have those spares I can't think how or why - anyone after a track bike or average looking road bike and would want the bike without the second fairing and tank?;-) would be an amazingly cheap buy!

OK the question has been asked on another forum.

Guy wants to buy an NC30 and ship it back to Canadia. I suggested he should buy the tidiest one he can find but there are like two for sale on tardme. One is in Queerstown at $4k: looks OK but only OK. the other is that rough as guts one in Orkers. Guy is here on holiday and tripping about NZ I gather.

So, who knows of good tidy stock NC30's for sizzle my nizzle?

I would have bought the one that was withdrawn...

The question is why ship it back? Are they that rare in Canada? Otherwise I'm sure you could get a tidyish rvf out of a japan auction, and shipping would be cheaper from there (as well as cheaper bike).

The only good thing I can see is the low kms. Can't see 5 grand in it though!

Got bike and fairings back (repaired a crack and a few broken tabs). $800 later

Bike died thanks to a wiring fault. That would explain why it just turned off.

Couple of inlet valves were tight. They removed the cams to change shims. I didn't think you had to do that?

They balanced carbs but they said they were pretty good already. That would explain why it has always idled perfectly!

Now this bloody nitron shock is going to turn up soon and absolutely rape my wallet. And then I will have to sort the front end out

Track day on the 6th. Hope the bike survives it!

How often should valve clearances be checked? Mine hasn't had it done for about 20-30000km...I know you have to take the top off, nothin beyond there...inside engines is not for me :-p.

Did your bike get painted as well?
And is that the march one? Or feb?

Just had the steering bearings done, carbs set up and balanced, and fork seals done (wasn't planning but he said they were leaking) $300 (mates rates :-)) just tyres to go! Anyone want to go in on a set of 92 rear and 90 fronts at about 350$nzd delivered to Auckland?cheaper than shinkos...

I believe haynes manual says valve clearance every 24,000.

Haven't got the bike painted. Only the left hand seat panel had a crack and the repair doesn't look too ugly. Painting isn't a high priority right now.
Trackday is next Thursday - Feb 6th Waitangi Day.

I would be keen for 90 front and rear. However I am still weary of that shipping price and you will most likely get stung for GST on top of that as the value is over $400.

Cost to do valve clearances? I would budget at least $500. I understand AJ knows a fair bit about these bikes so he should be able to give you a pretty accurate quote.

I was charged a little over 6 hours labour to do:
    Valve clearance
    oil change
    coolant flush
    carb balance
and change spark plugs and air filter.
And find and fix the electrical problems (broken wires).

Parts supplied by myself so it I saved a bit there.

I also gave them a naked bike so I saved a bit of money there as removing the fairings and putting them back on probably takes them half an hour.

I saw your post on 400GB about the tyres. I am going to pass on getting new ones. Let me know how you get on if you do order them!

All good. Were any of the clearances out? Had a chat to the guy with my bike now and he said not to worry about doing them unless I'm particularly worried, full of money, or racing :-p

All good, with fitting I'll probably just end up going with aj, esp as by myself, it'd be another 60$ for shipping (as costs not shared) :-). Who did your work? Aj?
