Nah will miss this one. Might come watch on Sunday if I have nothing else to do. The plan is to do the Honda day in Taupo on the 28th.

You can have my torque if I can have your corner speed

NC24, Nah sorry to say it but you paid too much.

Still, an OK bike if you can get it going right.

I may have a front end for one but not sure if I kept it or not, will check soon.

Still not an absolutley terrible price and cheap motoring if you keep it ages.

Yes considering the paint work and the spare parts I have- Engine, lots of cams, RVF gear set plus a lot of other shit I don't know what it is lol, not a bad price if the forks weren't munted!

Spoke to Mr Rob Taylor who can rebuild and work his magic on the forks for a mere $950, considering his knowledge I think it would be well worth it, I am planning on keeping the bike a while as it will most likely end up as my track bike. Other options would be some unknowns from a wrecker for $250 which may need rebuilding anyways.

I would go with the RT option. I am going to get my forks down to him in the next couple of months.

Yeah I figure I've got the cash so why not? Just working out getting the forks off the bike, don't really have the gear to do it at my house so might have to get it to a workshop and let them do it.

In regards to tyres mines got sport demons on it, I ran them on my Hyosung and found them fairly good, what other options are there that are available in the 18 rear and 16 front. So far googling has got me:

    BT45's
    Sport Demons obviously
And a random one I've never heard of: Duro HF918 which no doubt would have to be brought in from the states.

The internet is full of people suggesting 17" front end conversions for the bike but no one seems to have done it. According to Rob Taylor it is something best not mucked with.

That's it pretty much, just those two.

I've tested both extensively, the Sport Demons are great when new, but square off on the back if commuting, then they suck.
BT45s have a hard strip up the centre, the better all round tyre by quite a bit, I've settled on these unless the Pirelli's are offered at a really, really good price.

Initial price for BT45's is usually more but it's a cheaper-in-the-long-run thing.

There is a 17" front that is the same off a CBR600, I forget which year, 86 and/or 87 maybe, this is the same except 17" so goes straight in with no hassles.
The difference in tyre profile means rolling diameter is about the same, it's probably going to be better all round, although may loose some insulation from the shit suspension with less air and rubber in the way.

Hey guys could one of you viffer experts please give me some advice on how to sort out my nc30?

Just got it as a project bike to keep while I sell my other vfr, but it seems to have a problem at high rpm. Runs beautifully right up to 12thousand or so then suddenly starts surging quite badly as if starving for fuel? I just cleaned the carbs and found a sticky slide, got that working freely again, adjusted the throttle positions on the rear 2 and it ran noticeably better, but hasn't fixed the misfire at all! My co worker, an ex bike mechanic, says it sounds like it could be electrical since it's such a sudden, very pronounced problem, but can't say without checking it out himself. Being that it's running like it's starving for fuel, and it's had an aftermarket exhaust and velocity stacks I'm inclined to think that the last owner might have messed with the tuning of the carbs and made a hash up of it. Could someone please tell me to a good place to start looking when I get the chance? I've read that the vacuum set up can cause fueling issues after long periods at high rpm, but the issue starts from the moment you wind it up to 12 thousand whether I've been riding it hard for an hour, or just pulled out of the driveway. Sorry for the long post but I've got a big Easter weekend ride coming up with a couple 600s and a litre bike, so I'll need everything the little 400s got!

Almost forgot; after the surging, it backfires quite badly when backing off the throttle... Another clue it's probably a carb issue, maybe?

If it was at 14 I would have said it's the factory restriction that cuts the engine to 2 cylinders - could this have been tampered with or something? Does it do it when the bike is at standstill or only when moving or both? As my old one had issues at high rpm when moving due to having the air flap and airbox modded - some people start down the hrc route but doing half a job tends to make things worse! I would have thought it shouldn't be jetting as main jets will be all in action well before 12k, maybe check and set float heights?

touch RT up about a shock for it. Or at least a rebuild. and some more rear ride height.
