And I'm afraid to say it's just better everywhere.
What did you get? I used to have a cbr600f that I built - circa 1992-1998 parts. quick as anything but I reckon silly amount of power for the daily commute...even with Pilot road's had to be on to it in the corners in the wet. I find the vfr much more forgiving of mistakes.

Little bit of irony, I recently picked up a do-er upper bros 400. currently swearing over recovering the seat as we speak! Swaps?
It's very nice indeed. Obligatory pic attached.

haha, shouldn't be too hard to recover a bros seat, pretty smooth lines.

Very nice! and a pack rack! do you mind me asking how much?

I think my staple gun is too light...need a heavy duty one - it managed the VFR400 tiny seat okay, but just struggling with the bros. also finding the step up in the seat is a little tricky...

Also while you are on here - my rev counter on the bros isn't working - have you ever had issues with that? it jumps up and down a little, making me think there is a loose contact somewhere - checked the main ground and looks okay but need to test I guess to figure out if there is a problem with wiring or with the unit itself...any ideas?

$3,600, pretty happy with that deal.

Nah mine was fine (now got digital though), but checking grounds would be my first thought too.

So tempting to buy one of those!

Agree that these modern 600s can easily out handle the old 400s.

I don't know why, but I have a shitload more fun on my NC30 with crap old suspension than I ever did on my 05 ZX6R!

My mate just bought exactly the same bike. Can't sneeze at the price they are at right now, such a bargain. I love the colour scheme. If I didn't have a litre bike and wanted a track only tool, I would get that.

BTW: What did you end up getting for the RVF (if you don't mind me asking)?

Probably helped that the R6 I road had its suspension set up and was on slicks! The thing was effortless to turn.

My bike could do with a few more tweaks to get the handling spot on. Looking forward to Tuesday!

$4000. Advertised for $4500, but it's hard to resist someone with cash in hand

Yeah, weather forecast says showers. Hopefully it won't be too bad.

Think I just shed a couple of kilos by cleaning out the front sprocket cover...

Might order new sprockets and chain and just give everything a massive clean. So much sticky black grease/lube around the drivetrain.

Does anyone have a cheap source for shorter dogbones for the NC30?
Only options I've found so far are fitting NC35 dogbones (which are bloody expensive!) or buying some modified ones from Rick Oliver (still bloody expensive!).
It's just a couple of pieces of steel so surely there are some cheaper aftermarket replacements out there?

Might be that it fucks the linkage action up. If there is a known good length it would be cheap enough to machine something to spec anyway.
