Tony from playdayontrack has said I can transfer my entry fee to any of their other events since I missed out on this one. What a good guy!
I am thinking the twilight session on friday the 27th of Feb might be a good option. Only $80.

Yeah that was me. Next time roll on up and say...ello.

Did anyone notice the 'big' white VFR1200 on track. Kind of looked (and sounded) cool (considering how ugly they appear in photos)

Which group was that in? There were a couple of big white things that I thought looked suzuki or Kawasaki like as I passed them on the corners ;-)

    Hi all

Been looking into tyres and I think I have found a solution (providing I can get them in the country).

Has anyone run BT39's on their NC24 before? It means going up to a 140 on the rear, but I think for racing having a better tyre is preferable if I can manage it. Got my mechanic hunting some down now, will be interesting to see how he gets on. Cycletreads have the tyre but just not in the right sizes for the VFR.

Apologies if anyone has mentioned this before in this thread, I did a search for BT39 but came up dry.

Got a mastercylinder enroute from a dude on trademe, should be all good for King of Ruapuna next weekend. WOOHOO!

What size tyre is on the nc24 rear? Nc30 is 150/60/r18....

What is the bt39? The uk chaps run bt90's and 92's over there...

Quick question - how lean is too lean?
My old plugs were a bit tired (too much rich running while experimenting with jets and idle mixtures has worn them out!) so I treated the NC30 to a new set today. The old ones were a nice light brown colour around the insulators but tended to get a little bit sooty over time.

After a 100km ride with the new plugs in with lots of high RPM and WOT, I pulled them to see if I was running rich. Based on how the old ones looked I was expecting a bit of soot, and maybe having to go down a jet size.
There was only a tiny bit of soot on the base ring, and the porcelain insulators were still crisp white!

It's running a straight-through short carbon fiber muffler on cut stock headers. Jetting is 118f/120r with one extra shim under the needles.
During the ride it revved fine straight up to redline, and didn't feel flat anywhere.

I'm not really worried, as there are no lean flat spots, and she's running beautifully.
Just wondering if you guys are getting nice tan coloured plugs with similar carb/exhaust set ups, or if they're staying reasonably white.

That's odd, what is it like when Reving from idle? Do the revs hang? Oh, I just clicked - what was the colour on the contacts themselves? Are you thinking it is running lean because of the porcelain insulator? That doesn't change, it's what's on the contacts where the spark happens - mine have always been clean often with a tiny bit of soot, which is normal (do you have a Haynes manual? Back page).

Revs fine from idle. Doesn't hang at all when returning. Contacts were normal, it was the porcelain insulator that stayed white. Every other bike I've had the porcelain has gone a tan off white colour and as I understand it, if it stays white that means it's a bit lean. Ah well I guess as with many other aspects maybe NC30s are just a little different.

I always thought it was more what was on the contact points, though if there is actual white stuff on the insulators then not so good? Mine always seem to have a bit of carbon build up like the middle top pic but not so bad? (What does this mean?)
