Haha yeah, I don't think we'll have any trouble selling though due to better service history etc. When I got the email from trademe about that red and white one this morning I was a little worried, but there are probably some problems with it if he's selling it at that price, also the fairings look to be a bit fucked.
I think the work that has been done on both of our bikes (steering head bearings etc etc) justifies the price we're both asking, and makes them probably more desirable than that one.

I thought the fairings of the red and white one looked really good?! OEM - has the rivets in the screen/front fairing...

They're a bit scratched up though. Would need to see some higher res photos to tell for sure I think. The white on the tank doesn't seen to match either.

So, it looks like my bike has sold pending collection and payment.
The buyer didn't want the original exhaust though, so I lowered the price a little.

It's a full standard system that I pulled off the bike when I put the cut system + carbon muffler on.
I see good condition ones going on UK ebay for stupid amounts of money ($500+!!), just wondering what you lot think I should sell it for?
Or if anyone is looking for one to buy, make me an offer? Not looking for a heck of a lot for it.
It'd probably need to be picked up from Hamilton though, as I imagine shipping would not be cheap.

Here's a photo, has a little bit of surface discolouration and rust in some areas, but I will give it a good clean and polish.

I actually walked into my local Honduh dealer and bought a set when I needed some in a hurry. $40 each or some bullshit.

I recently ordered a set from the UK from this supplier. Took about a week to arrive IIRC, but they're a shitload cheaper than you'll pay locally.

I bought mine from amazon last time.

If you need some urgent you could call AJ at Motohaus. He usually has a set on hand being a vfr man himself. Google him/his workshop in central auckland.

Do you mind me asking what you got? I probably went a little low at 3k considering I left the half system on (but swapped the shocks over...3.5h later!)

Mine just rode away :-( stuck with the project that runs on 2/3 cylinders haha. I think I need to bite the bullet and get them ultrasonically cleaned like the last set, unless anyone has any better ideas?

Will be sad to see you go from the vfr forum Vince, hope to see you back one day! Is the new owner going to join us on kiwibiker here?

Id go for your exhaust but I'm lusting after a system from the UK or japan I think...that and fork upgrade kit from rick oliver, stainless steel lines, Arashi discs....hmm everything that was on my sold bike :-P

Ended with $4400 in the hand. It was $200 less than I'd listed for, but the quick sale meant I didn't have to put more rego on (was expiring in 11 days) and he didn't want the standard exhaust which I should be able to sell for $100 - $200.

I was a bit sadder than I thought I'd be watching him ride it away down the road. It was an enormously fun bike, much more exciting to ride than anything else I've owned; just fast enough to keep road riding interesting, and so smooth through the corners!
I'll probably end up buying another one when I am back in the country and have a bit of spare cash laying around, so I imagine I'll still frequent this forum keeping an eye out for people selling their bikes

Heh there are too many aftermarket goodies available for these bikes aren't there. So easy to keep spending money them.

Hey, 4400 is a pretty good price for what was essentially a stock bike, excluding the front fairing and can :-).
Good man! pity didn't get to see you down at the track first! My plan is to keep this one given they are getting harder to find in unmolested condition.
Yes, Yes there are :-P. Some of the effort the 400GB guys go to with so many of their bikes is ridiculous! its almost a requirement for it to have an aftermarket shock, uprated forks and new everything!

Buy them from BNT, the two sets I have bought cost me about 20 per plug, or you can get from any Repco, just need a discount.

    Cheers
