Right fork stanchion caught a stone today riding through roadworks on SH1 and now my fork seal is buggered. Riding home with fork oil dripping on to the right rotor was an interesting experience.
Just wondering where you guys source fork seal kits in NZ? I've found some from Rick Oliver in the UK but they're bloody expensive.
Surely any good bike shop should be able to get them? My Various bikes including oddball vfr stuff is in stock or a lento be ordered from my local.

Hi VinzOr
Mega Motorcycle Centre (Previously Budget Spares) in Chch will have, or be able to source them. However, for fork seals, I would buy OE Honda ones.
Not expensive, and best quality. (Don't ask how I know this- it's a real bugger to have to replace them more than once!!)
Cheers, good luck
Thanks for the tips, turns out my local Honda dealer had them on hand![]()
Probably a long shot, but does anyone have a Type 1 fairing set laying around that they wouldn't mind parting with?
Original would be ideal, but I am open to a Chinese manufactured copy as well.
Even more of a long shot: Does anyone have a spare Tyga GP-T street fairing kit that they'd like to sell?
There's an NC35 on tardme being wrecked out. And a 17 inch RVF rear wheel as well. If anyones interested. I still havent looked at mine for nearly six months.

Anyone know what needle this is? Came out of Icemaestro's old NC30 and I don't think it's a factory needle (although it looks like one). It's brass coloured where the factory ones were silver, and none of them are stamped with J51A or J51B.
It's showing a little wear which may be causing a slight rich condition at 3k - 4k RPM when warm, but I just want to make sure it's not a strange needle with a weird profile that I can fix by dropping a washer.

Kinky is using a feather. Perverted is using the whole chicken
Turns out they're Rick Oliver's road needles that remove the 6 - 7k flat spot. I removed the shims from under them and that fixed almost all of the fueling issues, with a slight hesitation at 3k RPM which I think is due to excessive wear on one particular needle (left rear plug soots up a bit while the rest are clean). I contacted RO and after having a look at the wear on the needle he offered me a discount on some replacements, top guy!
I think this may have something to do with the low RPM fueling...
That's some insane wear on the emulsion tube, could possibly have had some harder needles run in the past?
Have ordered a new set of tubes.
oval is pretty nuormal figure of 8 is not.
You are lucky they are replaceable a lot of Keihins are not.

Further inspection shows that the worn part is actually embedded in the carb and is above and at an angle to the emulsion tube. Unfortunately it doesn't appear to be a replaceable service part, so I need to find some that aren't quite as worn!
Anyone have an old set of carbs laying about that they'd like to sell?
