I guess the only way is to have a test ride, if a dealer will allow one. The small problem is that dealers have difficulty keeping one on the shop floor as a demo.

I'm marginally shorter, and the bike's OK. Seems to fit underneath me OK.

I had no problem with test rides, and the dealer I went to had a multitude of them.
I suspect the real reason the model wasn't updated in 2006 (and 2007 and 2008) was that they are not a very fast seller compared to other models. Smaller dealers may not want to let their one or two VFRs be test-ridden, and may be loath to buy more in, due to their price and slow-movingness (saleswise).

steering seems funny???

hi all, am wondering if im just imaging things but when im riding in a straight line my right bar seems loweror closer to the tank than the left really weird have tryyed to gestamate mesuare wile riding and the eye omitor telling me it';s not straight there is slight wear on the front tyre but not enough to confurm my suspustion has any one heard of this hapening before???? any advice /
bike is a 94 vfr750f
if any one could offer advice would be great she's my comutor and im on extreme budget like every one else round here

There are several possibilities, Nico:
- The frame is 'tweaked' (has a bend in it from a crash). Very hard to determine if this is the case, and not easy to fix. Also fairly unlikely.
- The fork tubes are not straight, and not parallel to one another. (See this article too).
- Your clip-ons (handlebar ends) are not mounted exactly the same as one another. There is a very small amount of movement possible in them - loosen the nuts and see if you can move them a bit.
- It's just camber in the road, and you're unconsciously correcting for it when riding to keep your bike in a straight line.
- All of the above.

thanks vifferman i decided to seek some profional help glad is did hers why wht i hadnt notced was the lower pinch bolt was cracked and unable to tighten this wasnt the main cause but it ssertilaly did not help things at all after the mechanic took front off he put back together seemd to think it was the fork alignment aswell seems ok now still feels a bit out but he said il may not go with a little uneaven wear on front tyre once new tyre fitted shuld be sweet as a nut.

Hey guys I'm in the market for nc30 VFR400 front brake discs. Any ideas of good quality but well priced discs? Anyone got some through ebay or overseas?

Phff, I've been running no front brakes for weeks now. Before then I had a busted shock that tried to buck me off every chance it got.

For a set of two, after shipping, cost $420 (though with exchange rates this could've changed a fair bit). But I've had some problems with them. My brakes have had a judder since one of them is warped, and possibly the second one is too. TYGA Performance were very good since after I told them this they sent me another new disk. Due to money and time I've yet to fit it on and see if the problem has been resolved.

Since they sent me a new one I don't want to advise against them. Chances are it was the shipping company that would've dropped the box which would be enough to warp the disks. However, the disks do rust easily. Put a bit of water on them and overnight they're orange. Plus they may be wearing out a bit quick, though since one is warped I can't really tell.

They are almost half the price of any other disks you can get for the VFR, and about the same price as worn out ones from the wreckers that are in the same condition as the ones I was replacing. Plus TYGA gave me a free T-Shirt, stickers and pens

If you've got the cash, the $700+ pair from NZ (FGB disks?) would be the best option. Plus they make a wavy disk variety which looks awesome. The TYGA disks look great so long as you pump the brakes to get the rust off them

I also got a rear disk. The bike shop got it in for me. $200 and came with free brake pads. Don't know what brand it was but I'm sure any bike dealer would get you the same disk for a similar deal.
