The wheel is the same size so that isn't an issue.

The reason is the current front end has the warped disk pads, and it's cheaper putting a front end I already own onto the bike.

But since charging up the battery and riding it today I don't think it's in any condition to go racing. Engine doesn't like revving. Something blocked in the carbs. I'll figure it out.

    I very much doubt that.

Hey all, I'm trying to track down pillion passenger pegs for an 87 NC24 VFR400?

Anyone have some they'd like to sell? or know where I can buy some?

I've tried trademe and several wreckers... around NZ.

I'm trying to avoid ordering them from overseas which seems to be the only real option at the moment.

    Any help is appreciated!

    Joe.

If the pillion pegs/mounts from a NC30 are the same, I have some spare.

    Could you make somthing?

Can you find out if they are the same as an NC21?

From pictures, they seem pretty similar - but not quite the same...

The next step will be getting something fabricated, it's likely something will have to be done about the custom exaust that it's got to drop it down 5 - 10 cm ish.

Anyone know anyone who could do this in the wellington area?

I can do it if you don't mind waiting 6 months...

Maybe try cycleworks? I'm not sure but they may be able to help.

My advice would be to find a steel set off somthing else so they can be modified to fit rather than re-inventing the wheel.

Also try buckets and bits, I think he may have a few '24 parts.

I'll keep that in mind if I am still looking in 6 months

I'll have a chat to them about it when I get my bike back.

I've been looking at that option, I still need someone who can fabricate it first.

I've tried them, they only have the peg's, not the mounts.

    Edit:
This is the issue I face with the exaust:

Maybe not the best options for you but if it was MY bike I would move that muffler down and straighten it out.

This is all just an opinion here aye, it is not my place to tell you what to do with your bike but I think this is a valid suggestion to be considered.
I don't expect you to agree.

Pesonally it is not my cup of tea but if you like the muffler running it in-line with the rear fairing will make it look better and fit better.
It would also make it easy to use the pillion footpeg bracket to double as a muffler bracket as it probably originally did.
I have drawn a line on one of your pics to show the angle I'm talking about.

You will also have to modify the rest of the pipe to suit.

I think if you can do this or can find someone who can your bike will look heaps better and be more functional.

Ground clearance shouldn't be a problem.

I can do it without modifying the pipe much, only adjusting the first and second bends.

I bought it how it is, and I agree with how the pipe should be lined up (with the fairing)

You see it exactly how I see it
