well then, it all depends on where you draw the line between power and handling - the cbr150 is terrific if you have the chance of riding one - and I find the borderline where power matches traction is a good one.

on an nz road, i'd pick a 400 over a 125; a go-kart track is a different story but we're not talking buckets

and that cb125 chassis, if anything like my h100, is a bit prone to flexing and the drum brakes aren't very effective at all

Its nothing like an H100, it is toooight like a tiger.

Graft a decent front end on that H and you will see it ain't the frame as much as the front forks in standard trim.

Would looove to get my hands on a CBR150 but It's outa my price range at the moment any no-one has one locally.

VFR400 is a great bike for NZ roads, they handle very well.

sweet thanks for your input. yea i didnt expect mush more from the vfr fan club, but you have all put it into perspective. ringing out a 400 through the twisties sounds like heaps more fun than trying to control a monster and lossing speed at the same time. you guys could be bike salesmen. im sold and will put a forsale sticker on my cbr very soon i think.

Thought for the week: if the new bike rego laws go through all our vfr400s are suddenly going to be a whole lot more valuable - and much more expensive to aquire/replace

    VFR400 NC21 Problem.

It all started with buying the NC21 off trademe for $300.
Was rotting on the guys back yard. no fairings on bike.
Stripped rear frame, rust killed and painted.
Welded and bogged tank, new tyre, fixed petrol tap, bought fairing set + moulds for $200 TM again (for NC24, anyone want the under/split seat fairing?) new front tyre, new rear disc, plus a lot more work. But I have a problem with it revving up, bogs out at around 6K, farting...., there is a hose that was disconnected (mabye) on the carb, in the manual it calles it a "bent pipe" can someone tell me where it connects to? I think that may be the problem.
also after a sprocket kit and chain.
PS: If someones in AK, I would like to come see one to figure out where the "around engine" fairings mounts go. and mabye figure out if a vaccum hose is missing/ off
    e-mail me theflash@vodafone.co.nz

    Cheers
    Gordon.

    Is it the vacuum line?

On my NC30's, there is a vacuum line running from there to the fuel tap. Runs quite rough without it on there.

Pull the fuel tap apart carefully and inspect the diaphgams in it, The may be fooked if its been sitting around for a long time.

From memory the fuel tap's the only bit that has a vacuum take off.
Make sure the little screws that allow vaccum readings from the intakes are all done up and sealed.
I will have a looksie when I next have my carbs off, I have to drop my needles by a bit but thats low on my list right now.

Not just run rough, my NC35 used to cough and splutter to a complete halt at lights then fail to start if the vacuum line came off..
