it's got less peak power (6hp on paper), but a much wider spread and shorter first gear to compensate.

It's also a bit more nimble, but doesn't feel quite as steady as the NC30 as a result....

and it's got better headlights than any other bike I've ridden and many cars, and fixed the three biggest (only?) flaws in the NC30 plus a few more extras, and is farking sexy

oh, and mine just clocked 40,000km today

only downside is NC30 parts are quite often not the same and NC35 parts are hard to find... and mine seems to have an electrical gremlin in the headlight circuit that keeps melting the switch

    A little cheesy.. flames..

These are better (except for the criminally nasty headlights)

just minor ergonomics/fire hazards... they basically just refined things, met the new regulations and fitted some fucking awesome headlights.

    three NC30 flaws:

first being if you adjust the clutch lever down any further than the slightly too high position, the cable hits the speedo. (fixed by moving speedo forward)

second being the heat of the engine/pipes heating under the seat and hot air sitting behind your knees. (fixed by changes to vents and addition of rubber flap)

third being any fuel tap leaks end in a callout to the fire department to to falling straight onto the rear headers. (fixed by aforementioned rubber flap)

the nc35 is a bit more flickable/changes line easier and there's other extras like greater rear tyre choice (not that a road user needs it) and the black air intakes provide cold air rather than hot air to the carbies

oh, and they moved the handlebars like 10mm into a more comfortable position along with all the changes to the chassis geometry and suspension setup

Right on, first one is already fixed..

got pissed off with the sore wrist from pulling the clutch on a funny angle..

good to know about the fuel tap, might make up a little ally thing to direct any possible leaks AWAY from super fire hazard.

pirateJafa picked up a burnt out vfr where we think the fuel line must have come loose or something - apparently bike felt like it ran out of gas, no better in reserve so pulled over.... fire ensued.

chassis melted and ended up in two parts, rocker covers melted, carbies were gone entirely as was the tank (I'm told it went *pop*), fairings all melted, wheel spokes (yes, the cast aluminium ones) were gone - heck even the resin holding the carbon fibre exhaust burnt off leaving just the fibre!

    Other differences:

RVF has lower Centre of gravity - engine mounted lower
Engine not painted - the VFRs paint flakes off a bit in time
Although the RVF bar position is better, the seating position feels a bit more cramped (only noticeable I think when you are 6'+)
    RVF has shiny gold forks
And generally the RVF seems 10 years newer...
Both still have the annoying vacuum hose which breaks
RVF is much easier to remove the speed limiter on.

Although, there does seems to be one possible flaw in the NC35 that as far as I can tell, has only affected myself and one UK rider (dunno where my bike was imported from so there's a slim chance it's the same machine):

the awesome headlights draw all their power through the headlight switch. The NC30 wiring and switch is the same, except the NC35 lights draw a fair bit more current, which has on occasion melted the switch..... meaning no lowbeams until opened up and repaired as best you can....

and the rectifier looks just as suspect as the NC30 one - except at 40,000km mine is yet to blow so maybe that flap that keeps hot air away from the rear of the bike also saves the rectifier
