Who went to Sandy Pines ride yesterday?

Our ride went off extremely well with a turnout of 650 riders.

Glorious weather would have helped....but why do you guys (& gals) love this ride so much?

We would be interested to hear feedback (or post some photos if you have any!).

    This ride was absolutely wickard!!
Awesome variety of terrain fast, technical etc
very well organised aswell and to top it off a huge free lunch! Excellent!!
only dissapointing thing is that it is only once a year. Should be at least twice
Thanks very much for the ride thoroughly enjoyed by many

Count me in for the next one. From the amount of responses in the original meeting thread I thought the turnout was gonna be small. was way off.

I like this ride, one of the best of the year, but it keeps clashing with other things, arrgh! One of our chaps from work still isn't back in though.

My husband went and enjoyed it again, as usual. He said it was a good ride and nice and close to home. New record for the club with the number of riders present - he heard 630 which is still pretty impressive. Funny how you never hear anything about this on the tv news...

It's great that it is successful, but the only drag is that you get queues which suck. Esp as some people figure they can do the A loops when really they should get some more experience, so then you get a hold up. With more people it exaggerates the problem.

Thanks for all your feedback! Hope to see you all at our next ride (Sand Country Run) on 20th May. There will be a variety of terrain (forestry and farmland) and a longer loop (last year was 46kms). It's my favourite ride of year

A bit more info here http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/ca...=2007-5-20&c=0 Venue is just past the Waitarere Beach turnoff.
