    What revs at what speed?

Hey all, I have just taken ownership of a 1995 GSF250, and was wondering, as this bike is a new import, if all was upto scratch on her. Was out riding the other day, for the first time, at 100kph the bike is doing 8000rpm. Is this normal or has someone changed the gearing or the rear tyre size. Any help from other BanditV owners out there will be greatly appreciated.

From memory mine used to sit about 8,500, and that was not stock gearing.

8k is pretty good on those because if you open the throttle then its pulls nicely from 9k upwards.

Thanks for the information. About what kind of mileage do you get out of a tank of gas, at normal cruising speeds and revs ie 100kph & 8,000rpm??? Ive been told 350 - 400 km.

I dont think I ever clocked it. think most i had was 250kms tops, but it did have a lot of tuning parts, and always had it at 10k rpm +...

8000 - 8500 rpm @ 100 km/h. That sounds pretty normal to me. She's a high reving beaut and will love you for it.
I love the sound as she winds on past 13 000!!

400 km on a tank of gas???? Perhaps if you short shifted and never travelled over 50 km/h. Seriously, I commute on mine and I'm hitting reserve after about 230 km.

Welcome to the joy that is the BANDIT! There are few better learner bikes out there IMHO.

    Yay for Bandits

I only just got mine, getting use to the high revs and learning to read it myself. Was interested in knowing how many Ks you get out of a full tank of gas, I have no idea....

Actually I might just run it out of gas and find out for myself.
