    Motorcross bike looking after tips

Could any1 here help me out on what I should do after each ride to help maintain my bike well.

I just brought a 2002 RM125 2 stroke and its great fun but im a newb when it comes to dirtbikes as its my first and i have absolutely no idea what to do to keep in good runing condition.

One person has told me that after each ride i should change the oil, lube the chain, check water, and clean the airfilter. I trust him in what he says but would just like second opinons on this if any1 can help

i wouldnt go as far as changing the oil after every ride.

but i would keep a record of how many hours you do on the engine.

if its a race bike then new piston and rings are done a fair bit depending on use.

otherwise a good clean, lube the chain and general check over is good.

i would clean the air filter after each ride.

if you ride it a lot in sand tehn i would give it a good strip down and lube all the other components too.

Ive just started too, And Id say, Keep checking your air filter. when you think its dirty, (depending on where youve been riding), buy 4ltrs of kersone,(foodtown cheapst)20$, 2 buckets,2$, and bottle of airfilter oil,20$, and some lithum grease10$,and some pamolive2$,and some plastic bags,

1)dump the kersone in one bucket and wash filter with hands, dont rip it.
    2) when its clean put a cover over the bucket and save for next time should clean about 20 filters, all the shit stays at bottom so dont stir it up while cleaning the next filter.
3)fill next bucket 2 or 3 times with clean soapy water rinse the filter 2 or 3 times
    then rinse with just water
allow a day to dry propley
next day massage about 75mls of filter oil (total guess)through the filter. plastic bag helps
coat the rim of filter and any tears in grease and replace it
Im just starting. thats the way i was told so could be wrong just a suggestion
Ps I spent 175$ on a piston and kit . totally different bike, well worth it

Wash the bike after every ride (try liquid dinamo, does wonders)
Clean the air filter after every ride
Lube the chain (chain lube and CRC)and all moveing parts (CRC)after every ride

    Change oil every 3-5 hours
Check spokes and other bolts every 3-5 hours

    Grease linkages every 15-20 hours
Check Piston rings etc every 15 hours
    Service suspension every 15-20 hours

Obviously these times will change depending on were you ride and at what level, but its a good starting point
Talk to your local dealer/service person for their recomendations as well
