I tell you! That was VERY scary!!

Trucks cruise at 100kph all the time. And try and pass one doing 90 when it's raining? Good luck!

    Cheers
Pulled out to pass a truck in the rain near Rotorua and promptly got blinded by the spray, not much fun.

I've always found truck drivers to be the only other group of road users to show me a bit of courtesy on the road, waving me through or pulling over when they have room, don't get to many car drivers doing that.

whats the guts with the guys flashing thier indicators at each other!!! i was between sanson & foxton on SH1 just after dusk and had been following a b-train for about 2k. he knew i was there and i saw him flash his right indicator and then pulled left, went to over take and nearly got taken out by on coming truck when looking to see if it was clear!! ever since then i dont trust them as far as i can push em!!
yeah... sorry bro, i thought that ment miles 'n hour.

During the day we :spudwave: during the night we but I wouldent do that if I had someone behind me.
I used to have lighting on the fairing above the cab that had a switch by the center console that Id flick twice, only the truck oncomming would see that.

As for the speed limit being raised, the truckie cant win now can he. At 80 or 90kph you'd get shit throughen at ya for driving so slow by inpatiant drivers, now ya get shit cos you are aloud to drive faster
    cheers DD

I'd prefer to see 100km/hr for all to keep the flow smooth. To supposedly still tow my trailer at 80km/hr is just ridiculous. I don't mind trucks doing 100, I was just amazed the plod would single me out in a 50 area and not the trucks doing 80 or so there.
    Cheers

Yeah, that ad with the two falcons and the guy crunchs the side of the truck, I just thought if he had been going 10km faster rather than 5 he would have been passed before the truck pulled out, answer speed up, sorted,

    Guys I travel myself at the 90-95 mark in a truck and constantly get passed by other trucks doing 110and as for the police not pulling up trucks is a load of codswallop how many car/mcycle riders have there own cops to deal with(not talking bout the bumble bees), we in the trucking fraternity have what we call mermaids(C***s With Scales)that pull us over anywhere anytime of the day/night.{really called C.V.I.U= Commercial vehicle investigation unit}
And if you break the law you bloody well deserve a ticket,
Been to 5 truck smashes this year 2 of them Hazardous substances, and every time i spoke to the driver it was the same thing..... geez bro i think i was going too fast(morons).
So if you see me on the road stay back look for me in my mirror then i can see you.But one thing! we can actually get into trouble for waving cars on, ask spud he`ll tell ya.
anyways it goes both ways i have seen some real dickhead m/cyclists out there, I just hope they aint KB`Rs.
Cheers everyone And i hope yous all travel safe this weekendand have a good ride.

I was told by one trucker that speed cameras were a joke to him as the position of his number plate (which was legal) could not be picked up by the camera.

So you've noticed that too? I dunno whether they drive like arrogant halfwits (sometimes one-eighthwits) because they've become blase about driving or because they're stupid, or both, but they need a good thumping (literally, or with a ticket book). I dunno that it's fair to say, "... they all seem to think at times that they own the road and are above the law.", as you do get some (particularly truckies, and especially those that own their own rigs) who are excellent and courteous drivers, but there are certainly WAY too many crap ones amongst them.

Indeed. I am constantly amazed that taxi drivers are above the seatbelt law. How hard is it to put a seatbelt on and take it off?

How about this one, guys.....according to that old git from Monash university (yea, the same person on that 2-fords braking advertisements/propaganda), the safe speed a vehicle should travel is marked by the halfway-point on the speedo .

Following that logic, my Supra should travel at 90kph, but my Blade can travel at 150kph no problemo eh?

Oh - did I mention on here that I've got a new helmet? Or that I'm going to Melbourne today? No? Well I have, and I am!
