hahaha get it because i bought a suzuki impulse?

anyway i have some questions
just acquired a suzuki impulse, that needs a bit of work.

1) what size tyres would be quitable to replace the 110/90/17 front and 130/80/17 rear i have now? - even 33hp hyosungs have a 120/70/17 front and a 160/60/17 rear, so i figured maybe 120 front and 140 rear, seeing as how its almost double the power of the hyosung? i am not just looking to put the fattest tyres on i can to look cool, but i am sure that it can handle a bit more than it has.

2) what grade of oil is going to be the best to put in it? and fork oil? and brake fluid? and any other fluids you can think of? chain oil etc..

3)any other routine maintenance you can think of that i should do? bear in mind that the bike has not had much maintenance recently, so i wanna get it all done before i start riding it.

Bigger tires will make it handle worse, it's just a fashion thing.

Cool bike! I'd keep it cheap and cheerful. Shinko 005s would be more than enough, and they wont break the bank.

HP doesn't govern tyre size, geometry and rim width do.

110/80 Front, 130/80 Rear seems to be the standard fitment. Pirelli Sport Demons and Bridgestone BT45s are nice tyres.

I'd be very surprised if it made more than 40HP on a dyno.

Use Semi-Synthetic motorcycle oil. It has a wet clutch and car oil may have friction modifiers in it that will make the clutch slip.

If you are going to give it a decent work up, check the steering head bearings, swingarm bushes, wheel bearings, sprocket carrier bearings, lube the control and throttle cables, replace carb o-rings, air filter, and replace oil filter when you do the oil change, and so on.

There are heaps of different chain lube products. I like Maxima Racing Oils Chain Wax.

How many k's has it done, as im yet to see one with less that 80,000. I've seen a few with less than that but they had the speedo wound back a few times.
Anything liquid you will need to swap before your ride it i feel. If it has been sitting.
Also anything rubber may want to be replaced as well.

i guess i was harking back to my car driving days(about a week ago) a bit too much. i was quoting 60 at the flywheel. and with cars more power = bigger tyres.

you will have limited range to choose from,i did but went for pirelli sport demons,mainly reccomended by experianced guys here.were good price and seem ok.had a bridgestone on front prior but were not available when needed to replace,could have gone to avons or contis but bit pricey.
