Yelled at... for FOLLOWING the law!

Heading home ast night, there was a scooter in front of me, so I sat behind him, giving him space to get on with things.

As we got to a 'filter' bit for a right hander, I got a torrent of abuse from thick bloke in van's even thicker girlfriend/wife/cheap trick. I believe the exact phrase was "You f*ckin' c*nt, why don't you learn to f*ckin' drive"

Reason? For riding in a straight line, at the speed limit, not alongside the scooter, as far as I can make out. Or possibly I rolled off the throttle, so my brake lights would not have come on - clearly to Thick Tart (and I assume Husband/Boyfriend/'Client') this meant it was ME not 'driving properly', rather than him for relying on brake lights to tell him what to do?

As they'd blasted past me, I just carried on at the same speed, rolled alongside, increased revs ever so slightly and looked towards the side
window - didn't stop, just carried on going at the same pace.

It was quite pleasing to see both the idiots jump...

Ahhhh yes and when they're not abusing you they're trying to kill ya!

I was riding along Kent Tce tonight (decided it was a little breezy to go round Oriental Bay) and changed into the right hand lane. The split second after I'd changed lane a guy on my right pulls out of a park and just about drives right into me! I gave him a good hard stare (the glare of death!), shook my head and carried on. It doesn't stop there though! I had escaped form 1 brainless f*ck only to have a driver (in a BMW) on Adelaide Rd pull over into the LH lane right in front of me without indicating "F*CK!!!"

Breath in, breath out, breath in, breath now siiiiiiiiiiigh and SCREEEEEEAAAAM!

    Ahhhhh I feel better now

    Don't take it personally...

These mouthbreathers are not out to get you as an individual, they just don't give a shit about anyone!

    Must've been visiting D'Aucklanders....

Instances like this here are too numerous to mention. It's interesting when I drive my wife to work or she drives around D'Auckland, as she usually travels by bus, and can get a bit agitated at the normal occurences that she's unaware of as a bus pasenger.
Yesterday, I turned into the street our parking entrance is on, with my indicator on, and got tootled melodiously by the woman behind me. What had I done wrong? I was turning. I think she expected me to go straight ahead, and nearly drove into the back of my wife's car, so she tootled me because she got a fright. Or because I momentarily discomfitted her. Heaven forbid that a D'Aucklander's flow of expediency is interrupted...
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Yep, cities are bad - Ok.

Heading down to Bruce Bay tomorrow with the west Coast Touring Club. From Hokitika to close to Haast - 350 km of coastal road and twisties, sweet.
Camper vans haven't started yet for the seaon either - super sweet.
And the whitebait seaon opened at the start of the week - f*#cken brilliant

For sure cities are bad, Auckalnd is F@#$^G Horrible, the worst thing here is an orange light means floor it, and the red light means carry on cause you're going to fast to stop. I'm amazed sitting at the lights watching three or four cars carry on through a red light.
Has almost been the downfall of me more than once.

Well I've just got home from being taken out by a taxi! He was parked up Aro valley right after one of the many blind corners heading up the hill, taking up about 3/4 of the lane. Probably not the brightest parking spot. So I slammed into him and came off and he tried to plead innocent! Cops came, one ended up yelling at him and all's sorted.
But how can you prepare yourself for these people? You could ride around every corner and through every intersection at 35km and you'd be ok most of the time. But in reality what can you do? I guess that's just the risk factor. Another guy tried to take me out at the intersection by the Uni the other day, just didn't even occur to him to turn his head and look. The list could go on forever eh?!
