News Flash! KDX200s to be no more!

Fresh off the press from the powers that be

The current run of KDX 200s are the last ones we'll be getting here in NZ

Lyntech Holdings Ltd (Kawasaki NZ) have 47 left in the warehouse and once they've gone that's it

Kawasaki have finished the production of the KDX in the Thailand plant

So if you've thought about getting one recently grab one now though they'll be around for a long long time yet with the vast amount of aftermarket goodies available, there'll never be a new KDX again in years to come.

this bike got me back into off road ride and alot of others into trail riding, a bullet proff bike, it will be a shame to see it go, but with no development in the last decade to the bike, and the emissinon laws it was a old egg waiting to fall off the production line.
i wounder what will replace it, the klx300 IMHO just is'nt up to the level that the KDX was.

Nothing to be heard of a replacement at present. There isn't that much between the KLX & KDX the KDX is slightly lighter & more agile with a couple kw more power where the KLX is more tractable in power & has slightly longer legs in outright speed. Pretty much boils down to whether you want ringa ding ding or thump thump lols.

Still it's a bloody shame that it's coming to an end the KDX was a benchmark do all off-roader

it will be a dam shame when those last KDX's are gone, they are still one of the best all around bikes on the market, especially when you take in the price

They are a damn fine bike - it's a crying shame about the colour though....

Yeah they were a good bike, but nothing had been done to them since 1995!!!!!!!!!!! If they had done a few things to them thye may have been more popular. I was tempted to get one a year ago, but there is a few design flaws that if they had carried on developing them they would still be popular. The KLX IMO is a quite different bike. Personally I think the KLX is a bit fugly.

The KDX is a mighty bike and its a real shame to lose them. The KLX is a slug in comparison.
I really hope that Kawasaki doesn't ditch the 2 stroke all together. That will suck!

what you talking about, the minor problem they have is the conventional forks that hang down to far,

and they have been kawasaki biggest selling dirtbike since 89

This is sad news. Kind of like losing an old friend. Felt the same when I heard the CR500 was to be discontinued. Of course the other recent bad news was that there will be no more 2 stroke CRs at all next year.

The final end of a line of enduros starting back in about 1980 with the KDX175. I wonder how many people got started dirt riding on a bike from this line?

Yeah, real shame. I certainly honed my skills on my old KDX.

    I'm looking at a 1993 KDX200 tomorrow.
They good? Anything I need to especially look at ?

I borrowed one a while ago to go trail riding and loved it, I thought it'd be good to go with the XR250 so Mrs and me can go trail riding together.
