    88 engine in to a 96 gsx250

is it posible to swap the 1988 engine in to the 1996 frame. i dont know if any of the are a R version and i know the 88 carbed. is it posible? will i have to fine out more?

i can get a mint 1996 gsx250 off a friends step dad with 50000km on it for $1000. It is just in parts and needs painting on fairings (no damage) and the 88 engine has only 20000km . i was thinking of abusing the motor in it now and just swaping it over when it goes? coz i herd alot of high reving 250s dont last much longer than 50 thow but i have seen them up in the 80000 range. so i just wnat to cover my bases and have sum fun

Probably not. The 88 GSXR250 is a 4 cylinder jobbie, the '96 GSX250 is a twin. Different motors, different bikes.
