So was it Cheese who was with us down in the bog? Cos we went down the hill because we saw someone else down there and thought if he was down there there must be a way out! So we followed him down to find a narrow creek and a tiny little goats trail to get out... My mate got his back wheel stuck over the axle in mud. took us 15 mins to get that bastard out... Now who was the person to sugesst "Give it some Gas!!!" so it can dig itself a bigger hole!!

But we got the bike out, and used teamwork to get all 3 bikes through the tiny goats trail back onto the track...

i have no idea who's bloody who down at the track, next time we should arrange a bit of a KB meet & greet on site, if u guys saw 2 CR250's out there with no numbers(i think the only 2 strokes there) , that was cheese & myself, and the other bike riding with us was a RMZ250, which was piloted by jimmy 2006

I don't think it was me that you followed. I spent all my time on my ass on the A track. I was feeling ok untill I slid down a steep greasy part and smacked into a tree. I know you are meant to ride not slide, but I was fucking packing myself on that A loop! It would be awesome if it was a bit drier. I was really tempted to try to find a goat treack out of the A track, cause I really struggled to get up the first hill to enter the A track. And I thought to my self, hmmmm, we have gone up, we have to do down somewhere....... Shit.......

Lol yeah, i know how you feel... We made it up the first two hills, but the 3rd hill had a bit of a bog at the bottom of it and we didnt have enough speed to get through, so we went off the track a bit, and got stuck.. then we managed to get further and further away from the track untill we thought Stuff it! if hes down there then we can go down there too!! :P Bad idea!!

    But got the suspension in.
Jeepers Danger is pretty strict on how to install them right down to which bolts to torque up first. But I did it EXACTLY as instructed.
Perhaps we should sneak out for a sly ride without the kids during the week eh?

Danger --It wouldn't be a ride for you it would be giving a lesson!
Was thinking about Ardmore 2morrow but its really full on there.
Busy as hell and it might be taking the MX to far doing it in work time. I'm not drawing plans for anyone here am I?? Still I'm very tempted.
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

Man I'd love to take a wednesday and pop down to ardmore. I went on Anzac day and shit there was waaaaaay too many people there. Looks like a fun traack though.

I might go soon though as I really really need the practice..... Getting a bit worried about teh T100 after how many times I assed off at thunder park. Would you compare the grounds of the two places to be quite similar? Tarawera is Clay and volcanic rock based?

Went there one Wednesday about a month ago with my 17 year old, it was quite busy, he didn't even have a go. As the ones there were jumping high and long. He's not a whimp either, raced Karts for 7 years or more and can get round the B track at Thunder ok. But its pretty imtimidating when everyone is going for it. The other riders are very good but we thought the trails might be best intil we can jump 3 stories in the Air

    Cheese
Hope my directions to Thunder helped. Glad you had a good day out there. B track is getting a little cut up since I first went there. But its good aye!
Ardmore on a Wednesday practice starts at about 2pm so it would only be an afternoon off. Had a job in Papakura today so dropped by the track its in good nick wet enough for no dust, but not muddy. He does look after it well.

Theres not alot of clay at the Tarawera rides, its a nice loomy pumice type soil, it drains quite well and therefore drys quite quickly, but if you get alot of rain before the race it will still be quite slippery.

If you had that much trouble on the A track at thundercross, you may want to get a bit more practise in before tackling the T100.

Yeah I should be ok. I want to get a bit more time on the bike before the race. I might try to do a Wednesday at ardmore. I think if I'd done a few laps on the B loop before the A loop I would have been more confident.

Had tentative plans for the last part of this week but unsure now as I have had a few unexpected jobs coming in. I'll let you know if I intend to get out sometime. It won't be Wednesday.

Depending on conditions, which vary from week to week, a certain enduro champion (Chris Birch) has been known to comment that the A loop "took a fair bit of riding" to get through. He got round, of course, but it wasn't that easy.
Not sure how much James has changed the place since then (few years back) but it's not always as easy as on dry days.
I think this expert has also gone on to win the T100, but can't quite remember if he's even bothered to race it. I know last year they were commenting he was going to race, but as he was also going to the A4DE, he never made it.
I think I've only ever made it out there once or twice (definitely once, remember getting myself in a total shit hole through total stupidity on my part) but looking forward(?) to going again in a few weeks' time.

Sorry, but to basically slag off someone who struggled around the A loop, unless you were there, it's uncalled for as conditions change. No, I wasn't there the day the expert was there either, but my husband was & he commented about the comment from Chris afterwards.

It may be that Cheese was totally out of his depth but will have a ball at the T100. Cheese - are you going to the Waitemata MCC family day at the end of this month? If so, ask at sign-on if I've left anything for you. I've got a video of the T100 from a few years back - I want it back, but it may give you a bit of an idea of what to expect. If not, good luck (doubt I'm doing any off-road riding before or after then for a while).

Whoa ease up tiger... it was hardly slagging him off, it was a general comment!
I have ridden the A loop at thundercross hundreds of times and know exactly how bad it can get.
I have also raced enduros and ridden the Tarawera tracks many times and would think that it was only common sense to say that if you had that much trouble with such a short loop then maybe you might need a bit of practise before tackling a long race like T100.

    No offence cheese.
