Thankfully this is not a dilemma that I have had to resolve. My other half is up for a "ride" pretty much anytime. I mentioned this thread to her and her response was to try and figure out a way to rearrange the seating on the bike to combine both activities - pack more into the day, so to speak.
Sorta explains the permanent grin on my face for the last 9 years.
