i got a 2001 R and realy enjoy riding it.
just got some bad squeek in the susp somewhere to shes going to bits
during the week. I also notice the tyre destroying. But hey you get that with the big twins.

Flippin' TL's, more horsepower, better handling, nice fuel consumption, good sound, great resale, heaps of spares...

Just in relation to tyre shreading - fitting an aftermarket rear shock makes a big difference. I love my Ohlins!!!!

isn't it about 5 tyres to one ohlins shock (price wise)?

mine has an ohlins, and it's the bees.

what sort of tyre/tyre pressure is everyone running (front and back)

    TLR's rock

    Am I late ??? ...

    As you can see, I have a 1999 TL1000R - and I love it.

Of course the TLR's are much better than those silly TLS's

Hi guys well that is more like it. Good to get a bit of interest going.

Well moto sounds like the needle bearings in your suspnsion linkages are in need of lubrication If you do come up, do drop me a line.

I thought it was you morepower

TLs vs TLr that does get a little tiresome but here you go

Both great bikes but the r is so fat

    Anyone else?

We should do up a TL NZ locater (sounds a little familiar) what do you think?

    Thanks guys

Hey Saul, sorry been away from the interwebee thing for a few days, down back home in welly, strink to hear about your off man, guess it's one of the perks riding an "S". It was an Avon Azaro AV40 i had on the back, didn't think they were that soft, or maybe it was something to do with the throttle , yeah i am a member of TLplanet and go there if i need some info, great site in all, but not a shit load of kiwi's on there, sites like these are great to meet people and hook up for rides, bit hard when all the TLplanet rides are UK/US based.......

MotoXXX, mine gots a nasty squeak going on to at the mo, it's in at welly M/Cycles now getting stripped down, will let you know what it is, i'm hoping just a dry pivot but latley it's been feeling like the swing arm is grabbing a bit in it's travel and causing a not so nice handling sensation.

I have heard nothing but good things bout chucking an ohlins rear damper on, but as i'm looking at up grading to a newer bike early next year think i'd rather save the money and put it onto that, but if you're keeping ya TL you can't go wrong, esp on the "S", and then you can throw your rotary damper at a car.

Oraginise a TL get together would be a great idea if it's in the north island i'll be there.

    Go the TL's R or S they're both phat

Yea will do feral1, how many K's you got on your "S", i got almost 66 thou on mine now (thats a whole lotta rear tyres ) , i've heard after a fair few k's the "S"s do that, also heard some nasty stories of the frame round the damper mounts cracking.

    Loosebruce,

Got 35k on her. Yeah i've heard of the cracken too. Doesn't seem to be common tho. One of my mounting bolts vibrated totally loose tho....that was not a nice thing to find.
    Done any motorwork after 66k?
