Yea a mate of mine had that problem on his (a few times) i ain't that good yet! Yeah it dropped a valve, as much as that sucked, apparently the first TL to do so anywhere that i have heard of. My first TL never gave me any hassles at all, thats why i brought a second one after a breif ownership of a gixxer 6, but this one is headache after headache, still love it too bits though.

TL weekend to whitianga, oh hell yes i'm in, october's all good, i'll be headed down manfeild way late october for the vic fun day though, 24th sunday i think. Before or after that is all good.

I have heard nothing but good things bout chucking an ohlins rear damper on, but as i'm looking at up grading to a newer bike early next year think i'd rather save the money and put it onto that, but if you're keeping ya TL you can't go wrong, esp on the "S", and then you can throw your rotary damper at a car.

Oraginise a TL get together would be a great idea if it's in the north island i'll be there.

    Go the TL's R or S they're both phat
    Found the squeek last night.
Took all the plastic off the back of it last night and jacked it up. A couple spare hours and a little bit of elbow grease found that i had 3 dry joints. Mainly the one at the bottom of the shock and the two others around it.
also u may find that between the mudguard and the swingarm gets stones jammed in it easily. I think this was the squeek more than anything but it was still good to get those other bits lubed up.
So it all goes back together tonight after a good clean. The cold kiwi entry has encrusted the radiator with mud also the back end too around the swingarm.

now i just have to figure out how to wire up and mount the radar detector and fit the new pager alarm system.

    Yeah TL's Rock!

Whooo Hooo. Ooooo fucken shit yeah!

Mines been sweet, standard shock - shreds the rear - oh well, they still make tyres dont they? Whats the problem?

Oh yeah, clutch is a bit grabby too, easy to stall from the lights when dragging of the lads in tin cans. *embaressing*

Mines the S, R is nice but its like arguing about blondes and brunette.

Whats all this bout the front cylinder dropping its lunch?

Mines got a tick tick tick on the front cylinder but I heard its normal so I havent done anything about it (cept change the oil of course).

CHeers to all fellow TL owners out there.

Hey guys - While were on such a fine subject of suzuki twins!!

Who here has changed their rotary damper for an aftermarket shock and which brand did you go to? Where did you buy it and how much ??

Same set of questions but for the steering damper ...??

Come on I'm keen to upgrade but I'm not sure if I should go... Ohlins, Bitubo, Penske e.t.c.

Appreciate all replies - Except the rude ones!!!
    Not even with yours!!!

After prolonged wheelies the front cylinder loses oil and damage follows.
I don't think there is a TL out there that doesn't go tick tick tick, easiest way to fix that is ear plugs.

Cheers back at ya man, i see your auckland based as well have to hook up for a ride. :spudwave:

I can see now how an up grade would do wonders on an "S", didn't think it was an issue on the "R" but it can't hurt for sure, ya can't go wrong with ohlins, but i'v never heard anything bad about bitubo or penske, i wouldn't hesitate to put either on mine, keep an eye out for second hand ones as well, there is generally very little wrong with them and are quite a bit cheaper.
The steering damper, most guys get away with changing the oil to a lighter weight, but if i was buying one i've just seen the new hyper pro's for the "R" and holy shit they look F#$&$n hot and at a good price to. Fully adjustable, nice range of colours to and easy to fit. Give Kerry a call at Motohaus in Western Springs, he got one in for a mate at a nice price. Have a look at them, wicked as.

I am a 1 week old TL rider, Fantastic.
Glad I checked this thread out, I noticed a tick the other day, I also noticed a bit of oil leaking, is this a common thing?

    Besides that, again, Fantastic
