Yea bro 94K is good going, mine did itself in at 73K and Dss3's did his in even earlier, 60K's me thinks. No real way to fix it other than chuck a second hand shock in, i got mine for cheap as chips from the states from the guys on www.tlplanet.com put aup a thread and see if anyone comes to the party, most have done a bitubo or the likes conversion and have there stock shock hanging around.

Unless you wanna do an bitubo conversion yourself, it's already got an ohlins right?

Bummer you're down tauranga way, otherwise you could've brought it round to my pad and i could've done it for ya in less than half an hour or so, it's a fairly straight forward job, just pay attention to how everything comes out, especially the linkage at the bottom end of the shock.

Cheers for the offer loosebruce. I'll be right for taking it out, as I will need to take the back wheel off soon for a new tyre anyway - never hurts to see if anyone has one privately for sale before going to the wrecker and shelling out too much money I figure i will just use the steel bar through swingarm mount and axel stands on either side, looks good on paper.
When I get the old one out I might have to look at some diy engineering to bring it back to life as a spare. Its amazing what you can do with some cuttlery and a welder
Recently did the temperature sensor relocation - was running at about 67deg on the open road, now sits at 80-83 (also put in a daihatsu charade 88deg thermostat), though I have yet to take it out on a really cold day, but I suspect it could need the bypass modification still.

That reminds me... DSS3 still owes me candy.

I got a lot more work done to my TLR...
    Steering head stop fix
    New KAD top tripple
    Brembo MC
    Set of new radiators
    Yosh 2-1 head pipes
Graves fairing stay w/front harness hooked up.

    Still more to do...

Last night coming back from hamilton at midnight in reasonably cold/damp conditions the temp was sitting at 77°C, what do you guys think, still far too low? Will I have to do the bybass mod?

Brent , I already have an Ohlins but would be interested in the spring unit if not needed with the BiTurbo

Hey man, did you have any luck finding a replacement spring unit? Just thought others might like to know what is around and for how much?
