lol, who ran out of gas?

Just came from Foodtown on Quay street, and when I get to the lights on custom street (I think, the one that's only busses), there's someone standing at the lights holding his bike . Pull over ask him "what's that matter?" his response "I ran out of gas"

went to go off, but then turned around to ask if he was KB, but we couldn't quite under each other. I think he said he was. he was blonde with a bluish (like the KB tabs) bike, sorry don't know what make.

    So..........who was it?

He's still pushing the bike now towards the mobile on Quay

Who here has ran out and had to push?

I've run out of gas twice...on the motorway.

Once at about 4:30am (got to the shoulder, parked it and walked to the nearest 24hr petrol station - about 300m).

2nd time was mid-morning I think...had to walk back to a cop 500m back who kindly gave me a lift (to the same petrol station) and back again so I could fill the bike.

It pays not to ignore the petrol light for too long

Very poor form Indy. Help another biker, even if it only means assisting him/her to the gas station for fuel. Especially a KB'er.

I found out the hard way just last week, that my reserve will only get me 42 k instead of the expected 60. Wasn't expecting to go 60 k on it, I usually fill up as soon as I hit reserve, but this time I didnt want to be late for my last day at work, and as the reserve should be 2 litres I thought I'd be fine. Left work and headed for the nearest gas station but didnt make it, had three to choose from within about a k - all of them UPHILL. Doh. Glad I found out in a place with smooth roads and lots of 24 hour stations, rather than on the Paraparas though. It was a pain pushing the bike, especially as it was a bit laden with luggage and other stuff. But again, it's only a GN, TG.

I did it once, not realising I was already on reserve.
I left the bike where it was, and started hitchhiking with the tank under my arm. I got a lift in less than 2 minutes, my intentions must have been pretty clear I suppose.
