    Delays SH1 - Wellington.

    FYI

NZ Police CommCens Alert 14:25 10-05-2007 Wellington

Location of incident: State Highway One, Johnsville

    Incident Type: Traffic Delays

Currently there is a burst water main north of Johnsville on State
Highway One. It will take considerable time to repair this main,
therefore there will be major traffic delays for traffic leaving
    Wellington.

Traffic will be restricted to one lane up until at least 1600 hours, but
this restriction could remain in place up to 1900 hours.

Motorists are asked to use alterative routes if possible.

    Message issued by Inspector CLIMO

On the radio they said to expect 35 minute delays.
I got home 3 minutes later than normal.

    Grrr.

I commute in the car (wife doesn't go on bike yet).

Left work (near Frank Kitts park) at 5 p.m. got home (Tawa) 6:30 p.m.
Measure once, cut twice. Practice makes perfect.

While this is the Regional Council's pipe, Greater Wellington was not responsible for its rupture. Some road maintenance clown is about to get their botty kicked...
