Tryed the 525 out on the MX track here & was bloody sweet , just about as fast as my KLX700R {650 bored out } but was in another level in the jumping & handling . Haven't heard of any bad things about any of the range be it 125/250 450s 2 stroke or 4 etc , as I know alot that have these & swear by them . See if ya can get a ride of one & go for the electric start its great ! . See ya TLS 1000 at NPMC Karl no more road stuff ?

yeah no more road stuff anymore mate.
my hips are slowly packing it in.
the only way to get around it was to try a cruiser and im not into that.
could hardly walk after riding for any length of time near the end of having bike.
so decided to get back into trail riding.
and got rid of the road bike which was a real shame , but such is life.
got a klx 300 now and put bigger header and dyno jet kit it but still dont have the snap of a bike with a pumper carb and is going to be alot of cash to import one as try as i might i cant find one here.
so will probably change bike soon or before the trail rides start in the naki again.
cant wait for next friday going up to the tokaroa moto x track with a group of good mates so will try some of their bikes out.

G'day, not sure if you've seen these guys, http://www.thequadshop.co.nz/product...roducts_id/340

About the Ktm's, there's a guy I catch up with up here every few trail rides who's got a KTM400 & he loves that, I think all of those ktm's are pretty good, the 2k6 model won that years ADB shootoutfrom memory.

yeah have spoken to the guy from thequad shop.
they import new keihein fcr35 carbs from the states and they are 1200.
not keen on spending that but everyone says it worth every cent.

I dunno, for $1200 I'd rather change bike personally, as you're thinking of , I'd figure once you start spending that much the suspension will come under the gun & it'll never really stop.

It's an aweful lot just for the carb when they quote $1300 for a combo with a full pipe.

I'm still another 6 months off a new bike, I figure I'll keep the KLX for 12 months, which will have given me a chance to get back into it & then move to WR250/KTM250 or just maybe the KLX450 .

get my bike back today with new springs .
so cant wait to see the difference.
got racetech on the rear and progressive on the front.
i got my header pipe and dynojet kit off LMC motorcycles which is www.thequadshop.co.nz he is really good to deal with.
cheapest place i could find a header pipe for the klx and it does make a good difference.
also got a MX style rear fender from the kawaisaki shop in auckland or hamilton. cant remember the name but was great to deal with.
think it was something like MR motorcycles .
and took the light off and put a number board on it as i nearly cracked the light on a trail ride so put board on.
i really like the klx but just want the snap off the mark.
its been great to get back into trail riding on and its very forgiving.
also changed the CS sprocket to a 13 instead of the 14 and it helped alot for trail rides.
