    My first set of leathers

I got my first set of leathers today, and I have a few questions
I figured I only wanted to buy once rather than replace them later
I got them on special before the new season arrives -
I got a black alpine stars suit (the alpine stars in white) 1 piece

I also bought a pair of alpine stars sp 2 gloves
also in black with white stars and carbon knuckles

I chose a size that fits me pretty snugly at the moment - I wouldnt want to get to much bigger, my main concern with the suit was How the armor fit me
so yea, the suits pretty tight which brings me to my first question - will it stretch ? currently the fit is spot on everywhere, will it free up though ?
My other question is while its new and clean should I spray something on it for when its wet ? - If so where do I get it ?

I would have got the 2 piece but the fit wasnt quite as good and they didnt have it in black..
p.s - im now convinced i have the coolest leathers , my whole getup is fucking mean - new helmet last week with blue iridium visor - the last piece of the puZzle will be boots - hope someone comes through for my 21st next week...

My knockoff Alpinestars jacket has held up pretty well so bet the genuine stuff is as good as it's meant to be. I would've purchased them instead of my Spool suit but the price was a major deciding factor at the time.

Anyways, good on ya for getting decent kit - it must look pretty funny without proper road/race boots to finish it all off.

good stuff bro. You can get some waterproofing products, most shops should have them, i know that cycletreads do. Get my licence back on xmas day, will have to catch up on boxing day for a ride!

I find they give a bit more when they are warmed up (in the sun) but they tighten up a little again when they cool. Kind of a temporary stretching.

I always find it's best to get leathers that fit as tight as they can because they do give in the areas they need to and this means once they are 'run' in, your armour will stay exactly where it's meant to in an off.

Mine were so tight to start with I could hardly breath or walk and my gloves hurt around the knuckle area. Now, they fit me perfectly without unnecessary give and an added feature is the amazing streamline effect you get cutting through the air. Espcially noticeable on a naked bike.

Just use a good leather care product from time to time. Leather is shower proof only at it's best so I always carry a set of thin waterproofs under the seat in inclement weather in case.

    Hey dood,

Congrats on the new set of leathers hope it makes you feel comfortable and confident, I've been wanting to get myself some as well but haven't been around doing it yet.

I have full set Aplinestars as well (textile jacket and pants) with KBC VR 2 series helmet. The SP 2's are awesome gloves except I had to get something like XXL lol.

Try their boots as well nice and light and good solid make. Have had one for a year without any problems. They are S-MX 3 and I got my one for about 500 hundi should be cheaper now and blady hell good value for money I tell ya.

I am surprised that you went for the one piece. Did you try the GPU 2's? They are pretty good and they can always order and get them in for you at the same price. Well generally speaking, most stores can.

By the way where did you get it from? If you go down to Holeshot and see Jamie there he should help you out with the boots aye. Tell him I sent ya so I can get more discount when I go there next lol..hehe Good luck!!

I got my gear from cyclespot, next to holeshot - I must say I originally wanted the 2 piece but am now alot happier with having the 1pc, it fits me like perfect and is comfortable to wear as well as instilling confidence..
Dont think im gonna go for the s-mx 3's - think I know the ones you are talking bout, bt think im gona go for the one up from that - not sure of the model but they are black with white alpine stars just like the rest of my gear anyways..

How much did it all cost you?

Will start looking for some good looking leathers in the new year.
