    New Steed

On Tuesday I set out on the road trip to pick up the new bike

While making my way up the desert road I pass cowboyz and his new bride parked up in a layby a quick toot as i passed and too those that know cowboyz .....no he didnt looked lost

carrying on to taupo where I meet up with trumpy and brought a good set of leathers what a great guy trumpy is

then on to the waikato to get a road code of scracha another great guy who can relate too beer and motorcycles

then it was on to Katikati for the night and to pick up the bike in waihi first thing in the morning

after taken ownership of the bike off to tauranga to see the orignal owner of the bike....who gave me all the specs of the beast a quick read then off to see sidecarbob quickly before heading back to Palmerston North well so I thought

After arriving at steve's work it was decided to get the bike of the trailer and give it a good clean as it had looked as it had been covered in fert...

well the clean ended up being come on lets get this puppy going

so it was a brake bleed, rear master needed a rekit ,oil change..new battery, carb clean and we were ready too start..well as there is too much compression for a push start and there was no other way too start her it was a good old fashion tow start and boy did she start and as steve sat on her there was a flash of flames and alot of smoke funny from my view a worried look from steve as the flames were a bit close for comfort for a bloke

so back to the workshop and a quick cheak discovered a brunt out earth wire from the postive terminal touching the frame so easy fix and we were back on the road again

In short the bike is a RZ350 frame with a work SR500 motor with a 13.0:1.0 ratio

hard too say to was more excited about working on the bike me or steve as steve saw the bike being built in the beginning so there was a connection

Steve your a top bloke and many thanks for you expertise on the bike and the use of your workshop the beers last nite and the bunk

and the other Kber's mention in this thread your all top blokes too

    13:1 compression on a 500 Single. That's quite fearsome !!!!
    How do you start it?

sorry for been a noob, but what does incresing the compression do? makes it faster? Is it any differnt for making it high on a single than an IL4?

Standerd the sr had like 9:0:1?
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

all that has changed with the bike is that it has 17inch wheels now rather than 18inch and the rear brake caliper is a kwaka now not a honda
