Thanks for that - I should have looked it up myself.

Can't believe they let it clash with a long-standing existing set of events, I was told the BM was going to be early NEXT year to get a better chance at fine weather.

I was talking to a guy who was involved with the Magpie rally a while ago and he was telling me how brassed off they were about the clashing between them and the Ashburton bike show even though they had earlier informed them of dates. I got the view that he was saying that they (Ashburton show) were into BEARS bikes only did not give a toss about any other bike people or their rallys.

It's not a total loss for the Magpie as a lot of us from the deep south go to the rally on Friday night then on the Saturday ride up to Ashburton to the show for a day ride then back to the Magpie for Saturday night so it's not like they're missing out.

Possibly a few Canterbury riders only go to the show but then that's their loss.

But the BM being on the same weekend as the Magpie? the MM will miss out on all the southern riders plus any from further north that would have pssibly done the MM.

Well it's where the first job application went so not out of the question at all.

I need some more companies to advertise for Business Manager, Commercial Manager or Business Analyst and then I can send more applications out.

I like Invercargill though - been there a few times.

    Hi all.

Well I can give you the inside running on the Burt Munro, Wyndham Street race as I am one of the two bobbies that works in Wyndham.

We are expecting between 6000 and 9000 people to attend the event this year. The Inter Islander is book solid with bike the two days prior to the weekend of the event.

If you do go keep an eye out for me, and say hi. (I'll be one of the guys in the blue suit)

A group of about 8 of us are going down, 7pmish doesent sound to bad considering our crossing on the way down sails at about 1am, a few of them went down last year and recon that they have all sorted so we can roll off the boat and have the better par of a days riding ahead of us,but with that sort of sailing time it does get hard to trust them, return trip is about a 9.40am sailing so that is much more respectable.

yeh, pumbaa, i looked at an early morning crossing, but i aint much for getting up at that time, let alone riding anywhere!

last year, i had a 9am-ish sailing from welly [stayed there the night before] and managed to get from picton to chch in one day. coming back, i found the nicest place in picton, hence the difference in plans... id like the luxury of that place again, lmfao. good value for money.

megarich... yeh, i checked, and the days id be using it, theres only one sailing per day thats currently booked. i will be giving them a buzz this week sometime.

Bloody dag eh - youz guys coming all this way for a rally and me and CB and other down here heading to Magpie Madness at Winchester.

When the Burt Munro crew get their shit together and have a rally on a weekend that doesn't clash with another rally AND is at a better time of year I'll got there.
