    ZX-2R prices

Whats the average price of the ZX-2Rs you guys get over there? I wish they made them here in the states because I'd like to buy one for my girl friend (and of course, barrow it from time to time). Not going to happen anytime soon but I'm trying to do some research for when and if I can get a hold of one and get it shipped here.

From some brief googling I found out the ZX-2R is more commonly known as the ZXR250 throughout the world. If that's the case, then they're quite common over here.

Because of the licencing system, where you can only have a 250cc bike for the first couple of stages of licencing, bikes like the ZXR250 which have pretty reasonable performance for a 250cc bike are in major demand, and prices generally reflect that. Despite being a (nearly) 20 year old bike, people routinely pay up to $6000 for them, however you can often get them for around $5000 and sometimes less. These prices are pretty absurd for what the bike is. Often far more expensive than the ZXR400.

i sold that for 3500 all it needed was a new flywheel cover and a touchup of paint on the fairings.

yeah they are way over priced, I saw one in the dealership, looking like complete ass cake for 7k. Rip OFF.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

If you do your research you should be able to pick one up for about $4000US not including shipping.

If I were you, I'd be looking at a 250 Ninja. Riding a ZX-2R is a bit like riding an electric drill. Lot's of revs, but little in the way of forward motion

$US4000? That's about $NZ5500. Including shipping? How much is shipping? I'd be surprised.

Ninja 250, or GPX250, or EX250 as it's known in 'Merika, is not on the same level of performance as a ZXR250. Look at the stats on paper for a start.

Maybe you just needed to pull your finger out and rev it properly?

Yeah, I know an EX250 would be much cheaper. I could pick up a used one in nice condition for about $1,800US. Its kinda one of those things that I'd just love to get my hands on though. NO ONE here would have one and I think it would just make my girl friend extatic to know that.

Its probably not realistic but it would be really cool be able to get. However, I did see prototype bike by a company called Cagiva called a Mito 500. Its a 290lb, 60hp, single cylinder, 500 cc, four stroke, liquid cooled bike. My girl loves my green bikes though and I think she'd like to have a Kawasaki as well. However, she may not care as long as its green (can always paint it).

I'd buy one just for the 20000rpm speedo.

I've ridden both. GPX was much quicker off the line, you only need a wee bit of revs to get the front wheel up. ZXR250s are gutless. To be fair, a bit faster. But so linear it feels slow.
