Supercharger, just because it's different. Kiwifruit as far as I know isn't aiming for a LSR, so the pro's and con's don't really matter so much. What does matter is coolness and bling, and for that the supercharger gets my option.

Im after linear power which is why im leaning towards the superchager. The turbo option would prolly give bigger gains, but im concerned about rideablity (sp).
    Thanks for the input everyone

    Pro's and cons both ways.
A supercharger will use up to 40% of the EXTRA power that it generates but is more predictable and controllable than a turbo. The turbo effectively uses waste energy for its drive.
So the engine package (motor and blower), for a given power at the back wheel is actually significantly more highly stressed for the supercharger which is crankshaft driven than the turbo, which is not.
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.

i'd have to win lotto twice to fund that....

im not wanting to do any serious internal work to the engine, thats where the costs can sky rocket

    Supercharge it!

I have had limited experiance with both superchrged and turbo'd cars.
It is true that a well balance and modern turbo setup can spool up very nicley and be very controlable with excellent trottle response, but...

Seems to cost HEAPs and take a lot of work compared to a simple supercharger setup.

A Supercharger makes 1600cc levins feel like they have a 5 litre V8!
They seem, to me, to be a much more user/road friendly option, afterall you already have ridiculous ammounts of power. More tourque never hurts.

Except to tyres, gearboxes, Clutches, Chains etc...

May have to keep that in mind when building the ultimate bike!

Maybe water/alcohol injection to complement the 'charger?

Good luck, cant wait to see it

apart from it blowing a gasket (yeah most engines would with that much running through them!) this is why you get a turbo.
