On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

Speedo lie like politicians, or husbands who have been out late.

It is possible to do the math on how fast your bike goes, others here have suggested speedo healers - I've used a GPS system (on a private race track of course). You need a reasonable length of road to work it out....
It’s diametrically opposed to the sanitised existence of the Lemmings around me in the Dilbert Cartoon hell I live in; it’s life at full volume, perfect colour with high resolution and 10,000 watts of amplification.

Yet the spoilt self-centred Americans that think the universe exists solely to serve them, are pissing and moaning because they can no longer afford to drive their 5 litre pickup trucks 2000 miles over the weekend to go visit their fat retarded kinfolk in Florida.

To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

    Mr Forest...

I believe the sensor + track on your wheel is actually ABS.
    I'd go with Skidmark actually....

Sprockets or wheels circumference are after the gearbox. They may change actual speed but the speed sensor does not know this...

So, if you had a 16 tooth and at 5k rpm it said you are doing 60 and you fit a 15 tooth, it'll still say you are doing 60 at 5k rpm. Actual speed may vary though...
That's why people buy speedohealers, to lie and cheat the info from the gearbox, to achieve actual readings...

While we're on the subject of speed....

See the new ZX10 was the fastest bike to 180mph according to Cycle World magazine...

Which is why old dungers had the speedo driven by the front wheel - only a change in tyre size could affect the speedo accuracy (to any degree) and you could change gear/sprockets whatever without the speedo reading any different.
