Yep, TO give plenty more stories but watch the safety factor and the genral publics perception of bikers. The last one does us no good at all, one stooopid biker ruins a hell of a lot for EVERY one.

Seriously, does any know if there is gonna be a speed trial held anywhere in the country??? if not will have to organise a fun 1 for everyone (sort of unofficial, but legal) with ambos, cops and bikers.

So I can do some filming, even strap a cam on some of your guys bikes.

There should be one before Xmas in the Wairarapa. Done on a closed road with timing lights and ambo crew on board. The run-up isn't 3K (due to the shape of the road) but last year someone got up close to 300k.

Given it's fairly local for you it might be your best option.

Most of the people caught via this method have been identified via video footage, because most people who perform this type of stunt just can't not avoid getting their face on camera at some point. It's both an ego and a proof thing.

If other faces are identified from the tape then they can be asked to finger the person who was riding the bike.

Shouldn't matter if it's done legally as in an organised event. Guess I'll have to get a written premission from the cops and stuff but it should be cool. Can't have a speed run without showing the people riding. Be like having a tennis match with the players blacked out.

Youd need to be an incorporated club and carry liability insurance for the event.

This document will give you a good idea of the issues involved that you need to be aware of when organising an event.
