    It's really catching...

Since I got the old GSX-F600 back in Nov. '03 quite a number of friends and family have decided to get either back into biking or to take it up! I sorta started a roll!

Now far be it from me to surrepticiously promote such a thing by speaking enthusiastically about the joys of motorbicycling but it seems that everyone I speak to becomes somewhat keen on the idea...

Now that the Missus has also rediscovered the fun and comraderie she is seriously considering getting her own bike and I'm afraid I'm not really doing a very good job of discouraging her. I keep seeing adverts for 250cc cruisers that would suit....

Anyway, one of our young friends whom I had "influenced" to get his licence and who then subsequently found a Hornet 250 at a good price, came around this afternoon to see if we could go riding together tomorrow. My dear wife, innocently (!) suggested I ask our No.2 Son-in-Law if he'd like to go pillion.

Now Rudy is from Germany and at 29, had never been on a bike before. He was keen to have a go and fortunately he's only a shorty, so just happened to fit my wife's gear, (although the helmet was a bit tight), and we had do dig out some old gloves as well.

With apologies for the quality of the pics as my wife isn't used to my camera -phone, we set off for a cruise to Warkworth and back. Was just getting on dark so was just straight there and back with quite a bit of traffic. Apart from startling him a couple of times by scraping the footboards... he absolutley loved it, especially the sensation of power when overtaking... By the time we got back he was buzzing! Had a sore head from the tight helmet but is now determined to get himself a bike! Oops! Looks like I've done it again!

Edbear vs The world... Eddie wins!
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

Well done that man, converting them by the dozen. You are a fine example to us all

    On ya mate

Yep, most people who get on a bike seem to want to get one.

You got enough lights on that thing?
If the destination is more important than the journey you aint a biker.

Well, not sure, maybe could do with a couple more? You know, "Be safe! Be seen!" (I may not be so bright, but my bike is... )
