    First bike?

A mate of mine wanted me to post this, he is new to biking and after a first bike. As He's over 6'6/100kg, he doubts a 250cc bike would suit him. After looking at the learner legal bikes, i came up with these

    Honda

    CB350
    CB350F
    CB400
    CB400F
    CB400N
    CB400T
    CB500
    CRF450
    CX500

    Kawasaki

    ER500A
    ER500C
    EX400
    EX500A

    Suzuki

    GS450SX
    GS500
    GS500E
    GS500K
    GS550
    GSX400E
    GSX400F

He would like a sporty bike, likes both naked and faired bikes, and would use it as a daily commuter with a bit of track time for learning

any opinions on what would suit? budget is about $6500 for bike

*edit* all these bikes are learner legal in australia. new rules are something to do with power to weight ratios

While I have no appreciation for it's... Qualities... The Hyosung 250 Comet has a pretty high seat and upright position. Your tall friend should try sitting on one of those before he breaks the rules. It'll be powerful enough for awhile. If your friend is over 25 it doesn't take that long to get a full licence. And they don't cost much more than 6.5K new, with a warranty and all that.

    I presume he's on a learner's license? You're not allowed more than 250cc

Suzuki GT500's are quite a forgiving bike... not exactly classed as a Learner/Restricted bike, being 500cc and all, but still a bike that has what I think is managable for someone that is learning to ride...
