And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers."
    Best answer yet.

    Sorry bout that busy day brain fade ,,, going round in circles . yes the question was , what do you reckon on this answer, i reckon its crap ?

    Answer , because after I went down the garage and did some work I came back and it all came clear
    the answer to life and all things was indeed 42

    in the end i got X^3 +8x^2+x-42

    which is what it should be .. as when I plot it , it fits over the data . , and all is well in the valley

    Thanks one and all , Hope I can return the favor sometime

    Answer with bonus working:

    (x+7)(x+3)(x-2)=0
    (x^2 + 10x +21)(x-2)=0
    (x^3 + 8x^2 +x -42)=0

    I'll take you up on that.

    Use the method of laplace transforms to find a solution of the initial value problem

    x = 2 is one answer.
    x = -7 and x = -3 are the other two.

    Look at the equation - anything multplied by zero is zero.

    All you needed to do was Calculate the compound interest of a Parabolic fration and divide it by the time it takes two men to mow a field of 6 acres....

    Yep, but problem was to expand it, not solve it.

    The original question , was to find the time it too 2 Irish navies to dig 1/2 a hole and to fin the maxima and minima of the work rate so that i could reschedule tea breaks

    they were most active just after sunrise , at X = 7

    but it's been a long time since I did any of this stuff.
    Just did some scribble on paper and i think this guy is right.
    Of course its true form would be either
    0 = x^3 + 8x^2 + x - 42
    or
    42 = x^3 + 8x^2 + x
    which we all know is the answer to the universe
