I have the 16 ltr acerbis tank on mine and hardish road riding for 260kms (reserve had just kicked in) was 9ltrs (exhuast and airbox mods with new jetting, oh, and the carb slider mod)
On a different topic has any one fitted rm250 (1988, cartridge) forks to their dr and used a calliper adapter to shift the stock calliper mounting point to suit the larger rotor of the dr ? I've googled it a fair bit, but cant get any hits.
dont break your cake

There are now 2xDR650 in Hawkes Bay that have got a glitch in the Low Beam circuit while riding as in the light just cuts out for a while or wont go at all. Each time Ive gone out to see if I can find a fault it works fineTo save some time, has anyone else struck this and what have ya found.
Cheers

Nope. Haven't heard anything like that happening before.
An intermittant fault like that is usually from wires chaffing. It doesn't always have to be high km's either if somethings been wrongly cable tied to wrong spot, too tight or too loose. Least on a bike there's a lot less length of wire to check than the loom or airlines of a linehaul truck. Have they replaced any bulbs previously? Some people aren't kind to connections when unplugging stuff.
Yeah, Will have to work my way through the system to track it down, because the same thing is happening on 2 separate bikes I just thought that there may have been a common issue on these bikes.

Having few problems with new jetting. put procycle kit in . open airbox and open exhaust . seems to start cold ok , but no go at all when hot. 150 mikuni main jet , and needle on 4th clip. stumbled when opened throttle until revs picked up then it was away. seemed to idle ok with pilot mixture screw 2 1/2 turns out. revs dropped below 2 turns out.
I'm thinking pilot jet to lean? any thoughts.
Took it all apart again and blew compressed air thru it . noticed some crap in line filter so put new one in , and problem disappeared . must have been block/ fuel starvation.
Slight surging now at 1/8-1/4 throttle , but pulls clean rest of the range, made big difference from stock settings! , just have to tinker next few days with needle settings
Ok, to save me wading through miles of threads, Ive just pulled the slide out of mine and the clip is in the 2nd from bottom position which could explain why its been a tad thirsty plus at the bottom of the slide there is another hole through the bottom which lines up with one of the internal grooves in the slide. Is this hole standard and what is the stock clip position?
If the snorkle is removed (Which it is at the mo) does the clip have to be dropped at all or can it stay in the stock position.
Im not after anymore power as its got more than enough for the riding I do, just want best economy and smooth running.
Cheers

So is that 1 or 2 holes in the bottom of the slide?
Stock is one off the the side and a little mark where another could go opposite it.
Stock Jet Needle setting is 3rd from top...
If the snorkel is removed then richen the needle up a clip from stock.
Is the white spacer ring on the needle in good condition (completely round, not D shaped or stepped)?
