Well at least the seat is wider - you only have to shift your bum backwards and forwards instead of from left to right bum cheek as well as backwards & forwards!!
If the way Gav charges around on his DR that only has Trailwings on it is anything to go by, I'm sure you'll love your new black beastie Bart as you have the offroad skills to use it to its fullest, as he does!
Well done mate! And when you get tired of it, you can move up to a KTM, just tell the missus its a required progression as a KB member!

First impressions are that it's heavy, but it's growing on me. Ripping around town today, I was surprised by the smooth power. Quite easy to run into a corner a bit hot.
I've decided to run with the bland theme, and remove all the stickers and some of the bling. She's going to have a stealth bomber look, without the stealth, as it's bloody loud.![]()
With the price of KTM's, I struggle to justify owning one. 690E was a serious consideration but 17k is just crazy money. The beauty of the DR is that they are ugly, you can modify the hell out of them, and they still look ugly. They're made to ride, not look at.
I'm more of a beemer fan anyway.![]()

OK, serious question. Should a DR650 blow out a set of front brake pads in 7400km. Perhaps the standard pads are soft, or the first owner loved the front brake lever. On the DRZ I wore out the back ones in 10k, but the front are still fine. DR650 is heavier though.
Thoughts anyone
Got 6600k on mine and they're gettin low on the front, and more worn than the rears, but not THAT worn yet! i reckon I'll get close to 9000 on my fronts.
I was under the impression on bikes the front brakes provide more of the braking on the road and thus would wear faster than the rear so presume on the DRZ you wore the rears faster cos you use the rear brake so much offroad in controlled slides(!) etc and you probably stay off the front brakes offroad!
Cheers, Dave
