Pretty sure you'd leave it on on or reserve... a wee bit'll come out but then it'll stop. bypasses the diaphragm so it'll just piss out.

That vaguely rings a bell, I'm sure I didn't have to do anything to take the tank off. It's been over 10 years since I owned a Suzuki though.

It has a vacuum operated petcock. No vacuum i.e. engine not running equals no fuel flow. Just leave it on either on or reserve if you want to take the tank off. You will have to disconnect two hoses from the petcock.

Prime allows fuel to flow when there is no vacuum. Probably about the same as reserve on a "normal" bike. Basically you use Prime if you have drained the carbie to fill it up rather than having to crank the bike for some time to fill the carbie before it starts.

HOW MUCH!!! Stupid Suzuki spares price.

Had a wee off on Sunday. Two days of racing the DR was a bit busy. Saturday Road racing at Levels Round 3 and Sunday at Dunedin at the Gravel Hill Climb and Gravel Bent sprint. Was pathetically slow on gravel. Coming into a tight changing camber left corner at about 60k's the rear only slightly out the front started to wash out. I did what I thought I was supposed to and apply more power. It didn't fix the front wash out but did slide out the back so at least I low sided rather than high side. Not a lot of damage, smashed indicator(I rode to the race) and bent my crash bung. It dropped on the left but the bike was protected coz it fell mostly on my left leg. My right boot must have kicked the starter button as it went over and broke it off, the switch that is not the leg. SO the pathetic little block with the kill switch and start button (which can't be bought independantly) is worth $208!!! I kid you not. So I went down to Jaycars and bought a button switch for $5.90 and will solder it in tonight.

The last guy who lent me a bike - ummm - well he is still my friend. But I ahhh, well - binned it on about the 3rd lap and broke a $50 clutch lever.

Funny thing nobody offers me a ride on their bike anymore.

Get a KTM kill switch (2-wire) and wire it as the starter.
